got the TTI's on
« on: March 09, 2007 - 07:11:47 AM »
Sweeeeet!!   Finally all the waiting has paid off!!!  I've been saving for headers ever since I got this thing. It had really old cheap ones on it.They dropped below the steering crossover and were crushed several times. It ticked like a clock. :crying:But not any more!! :grinyes: I decided to save some cash for gas and just fab up an exhaust.Later on I'll play with the X system. The weather is better so I'm drivin all over.  The TTI's were WELL worth the extra cash. But I still needed to mod. to get them in...just a "kiss" otherwise very nice stuff. I like the matte finish. unfortunatley I blew a heater hose at 5K rpm  :banghead: so I'm cleaning... latr :burnout:

The TTI's headers are great but they hang lower than they should on the small block E bodies.  I bought the TTI x-pipe exhaust system and spent many hours under the car trying to get the system up higher.  When I called TTI they supplied 6 degree angled adaptors to help lift the system up so they realize that there was a problem.  Perhaps the problem is just with the exhaust and not the headers.  I will probably still get the system modified at the exhaust shop to get a better fit.  I'm sure when they see the after market bolt on system they will nail me for big$$$ to fix it.

You definately have to watch out for stuff. They hang low on any application it seems. I just couldn't find any other headers that came out behind the steering that were all that much cheaper. I hate cheap stuff :dunno:  I have never installed headers w/o some type of mods.    These were the best so far!      She sounds much better :grinyes:

 What's this??? :faint:
Everybody tells me to buy TTi's and now that I decided to buy I find out that they hit the ground !!! :hyper:
Is this on very low cars or all, I have a SB and need good ground clearance underneath. Is it only the ends or collectors??? :swaying:

The hedders look AWESOME!!  :2thumbs:
My hedders on both of my Mopars occasionally scrape and they are not TTI's. I have a steep angled driveway and have to back out at an angle so as not to scrape the hedders. How do those low rider ricers keep from snatching the transmission out from under their cars??? :clueless:

I don't have any problems at the mufflers. They fit fine.(flowmstrs)  It's at the collectors that they drop low.Any header I've ever seen dumps low.  It seems to be a drawback to headers.     As for the ricers.....  they tell me they hit all the time, some of them like it!  and put mag. skid plates on so they leave sparks. ::)    :roflsmiley: :smilielol:
