I just talked to a friend in Iraq
« on: March 09, 2007 - 12:00:35 PM »
A kid that I havent talked to since I graduated 2 years ago talked to me today from over in Iraq.  I knew he was going over there, and it was a huge relief to hear from him.  He is a medic for about 30 guys.  He gave me this info:

I'm the medic for 3rd platoon C company 1/28 infantry battalion 4th brigade, 1st infantry division

Sounds confusing, but thats what he is for those that know what that means.

I told him that I pray about them over there almost every day.  (I wasnt going to lie to say I did evey day, I sometimes forget)

He said, and I quote,  "Thanks a lot man, we really appreciate everyone's support"

We cant forget about these guys.  They are fighting for our freedom.  They do know that we support them, and it means a ton to them.  Just thought I'd share.

:wavingflag: They are doing a heck of a job there and I hear alot of good things lately.  I think we can all agree that the battle for Iraq is one of the most difficult things this country has ever done but hopefully we are on the downhill side now  :wavingflag:

I agree, I will not forget.  I just had a co-worker sign up for the Army and he is going to basic on Tuesday, so I am glad to see people still wanting to go under their own free will.

Wish him the best for me if you hear from him again.

:wavingflag: Thanks to them all.  :wavingflag:

It's just a shame that the military can't fight and firsthand be in charge, tell the d@mn polititans to just keep their noses in D.C. and let our men and women do the job.  :pullinghair:  :banghead: Seems ever since Nam Washigton treats these situations like war games and got their hands on the "game controls" watching from a distance. If Senator Bullsh!t wants to fight give him his combat gear and send his sorry @ss over there ! !

"Thanks a lot man, we really appreciate everyone's support"

When he says this, these words are not used lightly.  I mean look at the difference in support from 2003 and now?  The Soldiers, Sailors, Guardsmen and Marines need our support.  You might not agree with the war.  But at least stand behiend the Service Members.  Let your friend know we are here for him.

Glad your friend's doing alright, 71BigBlock!  One of my old hs friends is currently in the Army and another guy from my class was in the Reserve.  The guy in the Reserves is currently in Iraq just wishing to be home, so I know they really appreciate it when they know people are supporting their efforts. :wavingflag:

Just know we are behind you and your mission :wavingflag:. You guys are always included in my daily prayers and for the troops who have made the ultimate sacrifice for OUR freedom, I ask God to help the grieving family understand He has a plan for us all. I lost a close friend two years ago this April and his high school is going to dedicate their new athletic field house in his honor. God Bless you Marine Cpl. Josh Torrence, we will not forget your sacrifice.
