So who re-pops the bezels?
I just sent my pot metal ones out to be restored and I'm waiting for the estimate. I hope I'm sitting down when they call.

Where did you send them?

I bought David Seward's awhile ago.  Still haven't put them on.

Absolutely beautiful billet al.   Will never pit like pot metal.

Called Jack's Auto Parts this morning to inquire about the rear bumper guards for 70-72 Challengers. He said no one is reproducing them and it has been over a year since he had one. So... :ebay:

There was a guy at Nationals last year selling the bezels, I believe he said that they are machined out of aluminum. His name is Dave Seward. Price was right around $ 450 for the pair. Don't recall if they had the black edging or not. Anyway, here is his contact info :( 772 ) 336-0576, cell is ( 772 ) 979-1674, e-mail is Bad70TA@aol.com.

Thanks to all for the feedback, interest and help with this.  However, I'm still not convinced that bezels were never ALL chrome.  It seems that from all the replies, no one has all chrome and that the belief is they all had the balck painted edges.  I just received mine from PG Classic and they are quite nice repops.  In looking through some reference books on E-bodies and specifically Challengers, as well as images of restored '70 Challengers on the internet, I am still seeing both bezel finishes.  I've seen all chrome and chrome w/black painted edges on R/Ts.  So, I really don't know what to think.  Isn't there some difinitive guide that answers all these mysteries?

Also, there hasn't been much feedback to the question on the lenses.  Has anyone had any good (or bad) experiences with repops they'd like to share?  I still haven't made a decision on where to buy mine.  I know Year One sells them for about $100 more than Mopars by Crane but could they be the same parts from the same manufacturer?

part of the restored photos being all chrome may be rechromed bezels and not wanting to try and paint over the chrome or the preference of the all chrome look. not sure on a book that would actually say something about this part?

I bought a whole set of the re-pop sidemarker lenses 2 years ago when they were first becoming available.  I'm pretty happy with them, fit is pretty darn good.  And yeah, YO probably gets the lenses from the same manufacturer but charges more for them the other suppliers.

Filmsurgeon you state you are looking at restored cars.  In that may lie the discrepancy.  Most of your reference books show restored cars. When you look at unrestored cars you will see black on the edges of the bezels.  Unfortunately there isn't a "book" that shows all these things.

   :iagree:

They all had black around the outside from the factory. Some people prefer the all chrome look though.

I know that this is a bad picture, but it's a reference point.
