Carb and Intake Recommendation Needed
« on: March 12, 2007 - 08:37:58 PM »
I'm currently having my 416 stroker built and I need to settle upon what intake and carb I'm going use.

Here is my setup:

340 stroked to 416
Stock 1969 'x' heads
Mopar 484 purple cam
headers with 3" exhaust
70 Cuda w/4 speed
3.23 gears (going to 3.91 sometime this year)
27" tires

The car will mainly be street driven with maybe a couple of trips to the track a year.

I'm thinking of using the Edlebrock RPM air gap intake with an Eddy 800cfm AVS thunder carb. I'm also considering a Holley DP750.

I would like to hear what carb and intake you guys think would work good with my setup.

-Thanks

if you have the height for the RPM air gap that is what I would use
Personally I would use the Holley Street HP 750 carb  [#80751 I think] it is very adjustable & Has out performed the similar but older 4779 holley Dp 750

Good manifold choice, as far as the carb, either one will work fine, I think the Holley will have a slight performance edge, but may be more finicky than the AVS

With the stock heads, I dont think it really matters too much. All will perform about the same. The Air Gap, a std RPM if the hood gets in the way, and I'd run the 800 Thunder too.
