Looking for some Cuda pics.
« on: March 13, 2007 - 11:23:45 AM »
Hi there,

I came across this Plymouth Cuda from I think 1970. It had Lambo style doors (to bad) and a Viper V10 engine in it. I'm looking for some spec's, maybe the site of the company/person that created this ride. It was at the HotRod powertour of 2006

I am absolutely loving the colour scheme, to bad it has Lambo doors, I don't think that fits on a Cuda.

Here are some pic's of the ride I'm talking about.

Thanks.

DG.

The only car that really isn't all that is the Foose Challenger so I think you're a little bit judgemental when it comes to a guy like Foose.

No Offence intended offcourse,..

My biggest attraction to this car is it's paint scheme.

No, I understand. The paint is nice, but the tilt doors and hood are a bit much for me. I'm an older fogie, what can I say.

And now that we're talking about, what is it with you all and Foose? To my (young) mind, he is one of the greatest designers ever, seeing as we all like Cuda's here, he designed a real nice ride meaning the Sickfish. The only thing I know the 'older' people here don't like are the big wheels he's putting on, but I don't see how that can contribute to him being 'Mtv' or anything.

I love the big wheels, but don't worry.. I do get that, lambo style doors on a cuda are WrongWrong and again Wrong  :grinyes:

The paint scheme looks like something Foose would do. It's very similar to the Foose Challenger. You might be young and like it but I've seen Foose mess up some Mopars. IMO

I understand it's a matter of taste and not a matter of being right or wrong, but I really do feel you're cutting the man short. His greatest creations weren't Mopar's.. I'll give you that, but that's as far as I will go.

In total, the man has designed, and built some of the most beautifull rides, like Impression, Speedster and such.

I think the problem with Foose is that he has turnd from one of a kind custom stuff to a "puppy mill" attitude of knocking out semi customs for the tv show in rapid succession. He has a very signature look when it comes to cars without fat fenders and that signature is repeated over and over with only moderate changes from car to car to "fit" the personality of the owner.

Similarly, the buying public has a very narrow perception of what is "proper" for a muscle car. Anytime some one pushes the envelope of that, they get flak, and the mopar crowd tends to be more narrow in that view than a lot of chevy and ford owners. Look at the controversy over whether or not the 5.7 is Hemi or not for an example of that.

Now, the car in question..certainly it has a lot of hours of work in it. It is very nice too look at and probably nice to drive. If it was offered to me I certainly wouldn't turn it down. If I had the means and where with all to repoduce it would I? No. Custom cars are kinda like Playboy. Sure it is nice to look at some of them, but would some of us be willing to live with them day to day? Probably not. So most of us look for and find more practical models that fit with our lifestyles.

Some guys look at my Challenger and tell me how cool it is. Others ask how I can stand driving such a pile of crap. It all simply perspectives and none are really right or wrong. As long as I like it, I'm happy.

Nice words, you are right in a lot of things, I wouldn't build the Cuda that way if I had te chance, but in every car I look for elements that appeal, and what you all say about the car I can agree with but not when it comes to Foose.

I think a lot of people forget the words Foose says, he enjoys, and want's with a iron will to make people's dreams come true, he says that over and over again in interviews, Overhaulin is doing exactly that. Foose also said he thinks it's a shame they have to do it in a limited time frame, therefor he cant do with the car's what he'd like to do if there were no boundry's. He also said, he will keep doing tv programs, to keep making money that helps him and the employees of Foose Design creating one-off rides... that's where he truly shines in my mind.

I see people typing the cars aren't all that, en he shouldn't touch other peoples cars without asking, but in the limited amount of time, he makes sure they are cool rides when they're done with them. And about not touching without asking, a guy that wants to keep his car the way it rolled of the production line, will never get on the show. I am sure of that.

Other then that, like I said, nice said... Beauty is an individual thing.

Btw, I like the way you can talk here about things, without getting arrogant reply's. Really cool.
