Great engineering, or stupidity???
« on: March 14, 2007 - 01:57:32 PM »
WSM forwarded me these pictures. I have never heard or seen of this, but I think I would stick to walking if I lived there. Here's the story...

>
> Stremnaya Road in Bolivia is called by locals ‘the road of death.’
>
> Authorities suggest no cell phone use while driving this incredible road,
>
> but phone usage and speed are left to the judgment of the driver.
>
> Stremanya Road is 16 miles long.  Since 1998, 3,300 people have been killed while traveling the road.

I'm not sure what you'd class it but I'd sure like to drive that top photo place (with closed roads)!!! Awesome!
Great driving roads, give it absolute death and also take some rather awesome photos too.

OMYG I can't imagine driving any road like those. Great pictures thanks for posting. I will enjoy showing these to my son who is about ready to get his licence. This will put a pucker in his pants when I tell him these are the types of roads he will have to drive.
