LOL !!  :roflsmiley:  Why I've been here the whole time !!                       Just kiddin' !!

I saw you mention me on the "The day that Burpin was born again" thread, concerning his 5.7 Hemi purchase.  I've been quite busy for the last year or so but I pop on here every month or so to see what's going on.
Sorry I haven't been active on here for awhile everybody.
Oh Yeah.. About the 5.7 Hemi Dart project.. It's sort of on-hold right now since I've been busy starting a new lawn care business.
I've purchased quite a few parts for it and ended up deciding that I would restore the whole car and resto-mod some things that I wasn't going to do from the start. Projects have a way of ending up like that !  You figure.. Well... While I'm at this point I'll do.. And that..  And this....  You get the picture.
I'm going to install an AlterKtion frontend to have a brand-new, good-handling frontend. It will also allow more room than the stock K-frame would.
After we stripped the whole car down to metal we found some bad bodywork. It was hit on the right front and had a lot of bondo in the inner fender/engine compartment area. We had to cut out the inner fender. We'll weld in another piece from another donor Dart. The roof was not very straight either. Right now the car is stripped to bare metal and still needs to have the interior sandblasted. The roof is close to be smoothed out.

To get to Burpin's question about the 5.7 Hemi / 4speed. I don't have personal experience with this combo but from what I read it should bolt up. I guess the question would be what flywheel and other parts would be the correct ones to use to mate up.
Any of the older "LA" smallblock transmissions (auto or manual) are supposed to bolt up and work. It's just a matter of matching the right parts (flexplate, converter, flywheel, etc).
I know this is going to be a challenge but I'm going to use the 518 Auto OD in my Dart.

Hopefully I can get on here a little more often and converse with you guys again like the "old" days...

Have fun !!

RusTY/SE,
When you get your car broke-in you need to make a trip to Carlisle with it !!   That would be awesome.

Good to hear from you, Bob.  I still remember checking out your car at Carlisle '04 and commenting how nice it turned out.  The 5.7 Dart project sounds like it's well underway and should handle very nicely with the newest plan. :grinyes:
