Call me crazy....
« on: March 16, 2007 - 05:25:23 AM »
.... but when I get back from Iraq (hopefully by September) I will be looking for a 70-74 Cuda performance hood. That's not crazy in itself I know. I need this hood because I will be using it to graft the scoops into my 71 Javelin hood. Since Chrysler adopted the AMC's I am kind of building my Javelin into a cuda hybrid. It will have Cuda scoops, possibly 71 cuda gills on the side and maybe a rear cuda taillight section grafted in. The license plate will say "SprdFish". If anyone has one that might still have it in September I'd be glad to take it off your hands. Thanks.

I already have the Cuda and sorry, it's just something I gotta do. Builders have visions and this is one of mine. Purists will probably be aghast at what I have planned for the future when I get my custom shop together, but at least I will be saving old iron.

You dont have to be a purist to not like something you envision.

Whatever you do, just please dont use original stuff   :stomp:

not to support hacking a hood. But... i know my uncle has a hood off of a Cuda that must have rear ended someone at 60 or 70 mph. 1 side is good, the other is destroyed.

I think it would be something different, would surely add a different element to the AMC. Heck, AMC cars were a hodge podge mix of different makes anyway so I say, do it to it pruit! I sure hope he is ok also, anyone know his name?

Bearcuda,

If you can get the scoops off an otherwise ate up hood, that'd be a good thing.  But any way you do it, it sounds like fun.  I'm going to put a RoadRunner Air Grabber scoop on a Challenger hood,  might be ugly, might be cool, but I'm gonna do it.

Are there reproduction fiberglass hoods for the Cudas?  I know there are some for Challengers.  Cut the scoops off a reproduction one.  :dunno:
