Now what ?
« on: October 09, 2003 - 10:20:12 AM »
Ok,  so I'm in the middle of tearing my 74 Challenger apart, got it strung out all over the garage.
( See Pic )  Next thing I know, there's a 73 RoadRunner for sale cheap.  I have little room to put anything else, even less time for another project.  Yep, I bought it.  ;D  It's not anything special, 318 with a three speed, body's rough, drive train is solid, interior is about an 8 of 10.  Should I hang on to it and do a restore somewhere in the distant future, or do a clean up and moderate fix up, then cruise around to the Mopar shows getting good gas mileage?

Decisions, decisions......

Yeah I agree with LB, Fix it up good enough to drive and enjoy it, because when your finished your project, boy will that be a big change from a 318 to 440+6. But sounds like you got a nice deal  ;)

LB & NZ,

I kinda figured I'd do the drive around thing with it.  I guess I can stick a 4bbl intake on it and swap in a 4 speed ( I doubt it could be too hard since the 3-spd's already there ) A little metal, a little paint and it's cruize in time.

NZ,  yeah, I think I got it cheap, considering it came from eBay and it looks and runs like they said it would.  ;)

Congrats on the new purchase, PG!  Let's see some pics.  Definately drive it around a while and enjoy the sound of a mopar engine.  I don't think I could handle 2 projects at the same time.

LB,

I like the numbers too.  The Challenger will be a while, I have some goals for the winter, but until I get a garage up to work on the body, it'll be slow going.

Rev,

I'll try to get a few pics tonight.  The body is rough, especially the rear quarters.  Where the heck do you find replacements for this year RR  :P  ?

BUT !  It's a MOPAR, it's MINE, it's PAID FOR. it DRIVES   ;D

Yep, and it might be less expensive than Year One's shipping costs, too!

Finally !

Found the camera.
Batteries dead, buy new batteries.
Take picts, too dark, wait for sun.
Picts taken, wrestle them up to my ISP.
Drink heavily, post picts for LB, Rev & NZ.

It ain't pretty, but I'll drive it like I stole it  ;D

The 318 2bbl ,  If you count the F-body they made /6's with less that 170hp than a 73 318 RR.

Sweet ride...  ah the buddy seat lives on...  what are the fender tag numbers (the buddy seat in particular)
1965 barracuda. Was 273/2 904 car had 440 360 in plans

I'd forgotten about the Volare RR's ( wonder why ? )

LB,  I meant no disrespect to the Leaning Tower of Power.

I'll get the fender tag and list it here for you 1973challenger360.

Now I gotta get back to painting the interior plastic.  BTW  Plasticote Dark Blue matches the interior plastic trim perfectly.

I Love it PG  :) Lookin good I have never seen a 1973 Roadrunner properly and I like it better than the 1970-72 runners (my opinion). Awesome I would love to have another Mopar to play with........damn me living in NZ it's like trying to find a spare seat at a Rugby match, hardly ever ;D Keep us posted on how you get on with it.......and keep on drinking!!  ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
