The new Computer is up and running
« on: March 17, 2007 - 09:44:24 AM »
I got my new Dell Computer on Thursday and we hooked it up last night. So far so good. Vista seems to be working fine and i really do like all the eye candy. Still trying to find my way around. I went from Windows 98 to Vista. I love the 19" flat panel monitior. I still have a lot of files to transfer and some new programs to add so that will be the test to see how easy or hard it will be.
I'll keep you informed :jumping:  :bananasmi

If you have XP, there's no reason to get Vista...except to say you have it (and that you like buying the newest versions of some of your software because it's incompatible with Vista).

I didn't have XP I had Windows 98. I finished transfering all my files and photo's along with my printer and scanner and digital camera programs and had no problems at all. So far I love Dell and Vista.

In '96 I bought an HP computer that was $3000 without a monitor or printer.  It was a rocking Pentium 200 with a 3 GB hard drive and 32 MB of RAM.  State of the art at the time.  Now it's less powerful than my cell phone.

Well if you need computer for internet, writing and that stuff Pentium 200 is more than enough but if you work with different programs that need a lot of RAM or you play new computer games than you have to buy new computer every year... I have my sempron 2600 for about three years now, I added some more RAM and other things but It is still crap for any new program or computer game. But hey it works for internet and watching movies+listening to music...
Thats the life with computers...
