Tilt or Adjustable Column?

Is there any aftermarket or modification route for making the column and/or steering wheel adjustable?
I've never been a fan of the "t-Bucket" style grip, I prefer mine around shoulder height 10 to 2 driving position. I would like if possible to raise the steering wheel about 5-7" and if possible have it a little further away from the body.

I was thinking perhaps a Lokar style column or perhaps some mods to the bottom of the rally cluster to move the column up. Has anyone done this mod or know of someone who has? I'll be asking my resto team but thought I;d see if anyone has here and get the ball rolling. Correctness? Eh..........it's a custom car so that's not a concern.

My tilt column came out of a 78 Cordoba.  It was a saginaw brand made to fit a Mopar with the ignition switch and turn signals using and adapter harness to plug right into your e-body harness.  I adapted the steering shaft at the bottom and made a plate to bolt to the dash.  It even has the push to release key-lock lever found on 71 and up e-bodies.  I'll get a better picture of mine this weekend.   The flaming river, doesn't use a steering lock or an integrated ignition switch.   Mine cost me about $25 at the bone yard.

I didn't want you to have to be the first with the flaming River deal.  Their setup is mainly for Chevys and Hot Rods.  Good luck with doing the install and I hope that they have the Mopar end of it already figured out.  I though you might have better luck putting a Mopar tilt column in a Mopar.

Bill Reilly (Reilly Motorsports-Alterkation) also stocks and sells the Flaming River columns. He may....even have some modifications to them for mopars.

Still a little hard to see but I wanted you to see the key-in ignition-light, the emergency flasher switch and push-to-turn-to-lock key release lever.
I noticed that they are still hard to see.   This is the stuff you get when you put a mopar column in a Mopar, that all still works when you plug it in. Remember, the Ignition harness AND turn signal harness plugged right in too!

Ask Flaming River if theirs has all that too.  I don't know if theirs does.

Thanks Rob, I will ask. But, looking at their website it seems as though some kind of adapter column piece has to be added. I'll print it off and take it around to my resto guys and talk it over then call Flaming river. I do see the points of interest you are referring too, probably as close to stock as you'll get from a "X"-Body Mopar.

Plus, mine has a cruise control lever that I'm hooking up this year.   Power Tour stuff.  (5000 miles last year)

Wow, nice job Rob.  That does sound like a great option.

I have the Flaming river column and it does not have the ignition switch/key on the column.  You have to add a separate one somewhere else.  Also it has GM style connectors not the stock Mopar connectors.
