Thanks Dave, that's what I'd like mine to look like. I'll probably end up having some fabric which will be used on the door panels and interior pieces over top of the standard cluster surface, like you see guys with carbon fiber etc. It will be nice once complete.....I've saved heaps of gauge photos and Clown has made a very nice price offer on the above standard cluster which I accepted so definitely off to a good start!! Bring on the install!!

I will be eventually, was in about 8 to 9 out of 10 condition. The whole dash area in this car was mint before restoration took place. I was thinking you may be better off buying local but with our low $ rate it maybe cheaper for you AND me. I get what I want and you don't pay through the roof. PM me if you're serious and make an offer. Yes, it is the whole set up, gauges, panels etc etc. Though I may not sell it ever or straight away.....I'll ask the resto guys to see what they think, we may end up using a part of two? Not sure.

Can someone tell me what measurements the standard cluster takes?
I'm guessing the speedo hole takes a 5" gauge, what are the other 4 sizes? 2-1/6"? 2-5/8"? or 2-3/4"  :dunno:

This is something I was researching when I was planning on getting guages for my car...i'm pretty sure the smaller guages are 2 1/16", if you want the flush mount, my old car had a 2 5/8" guage for the oil guage and it did not fit flush, but the ring stuck out.  Goody should know if you want to PM him, I think he's done this already.

Thanks mate, I thought they were 2-1/6" but wanted to double check.
OK, now I'm a little confused, which one of the photos below is what you'd call flush?  :clueless:

As you can see, they're all different. The 1st photo is basically stock, way down, (looks hard to read). The second photo (the one you posted) is what I'd call flush, so you say 2-1/6" for that look? The third photo stick out so I'm guessing these are 2-5/8", correct? Sorry for making a mountain out of a mole hill, just want to be sure.

Yeah, I like the look in the first and second photo, the third photo would be using 2 5/8" I would think. I think the first 2 photos use the same size guages, just positions different, depending on your preference. The second photo is my pick.

Thanks Doug (PM Sent) and Dave.

Dave - Yeah, I'm tossed up between the 2nd and 3rd photo style. The 2nd is neat and tidy, but with some careful interior work the 3rd could be just as good perhaps better. I wouldn't mind putting something over top of the standard panel and making the gauges more flush, I'll see. Still heaps of time to decided. I think I will just go for the 2nd style, just too classy. One thing I've just noticed - NO TACHO SPACE!?!?! I may look into get getting a custom switch panel with a hole for a 2-3/4" or similar tacho and perhaps put a shift light on the other side.....we'll see! Ahhhhh, I like this not worrying about correctness stuff.

Every part on a '70 Challenger non rallye dash is unique.

Thanks everyone, I have since decided to keep my stock rallye cluster. In the end I don't want to get modern with the car, not big into the G-Machines, well, not the big rice chrome anyhow. I'll be making it into a "period" correct "Racer" look. I'll add new touches like tilt column, 6-way seat adjuster, tacho (hidden) etc.....

Thanks for your help,
Carl
