Have you tried getting the vin info from your local motorvehicle dept. records? How about where you traded it,they might have a record of it?

Hope you find it, looks like a great car!
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

Pic #2 and 3 of my ARII 1/24 scale model car

Phil in New England-Massachusetts  Always thank God for what you have!

Yes, I did try that route.
This is the way they do things in Manitoba: There is a public insurance plan there called AUTOPAC. This is a government administrated system. All licencing, registration and insurance is handled by this same outfit.
Sounds good, huh?
Well, problem is; they don't keep any records longer than five years.
So I'm right back where I started.

Not sure how records are kept in you area, but in Ohio any car you have ever titled in your name is kept in file at the courthouse. Including the one from the previous owner and you can request a  photocopy of it. My file is very full of old titles. lol
Cant kill the mean and ugly. Only the good die young...I plan to be here a while!!

I traded the Challenger to a flipper, who has only vague memories of the vehicle.
Said he sold it to some young guy with a pocket full of cash.
Apparently, he painted it red.
I contacted MPIC in Winnipeg (insurance and registration), no help.
I contacted the Department of Motor Vehicles, no help.
Also, I contacted the two previous owners, with no luck.
I also asked the police to run a trace on the plates....and they wouldn't.
I've petitioned on several websites too.

I have talked to Willy-glad he printed your story. I have ran your old plates with nothing. Auotpac has no records that far back. Without a VIN it will be hard. I have mentioned it to all my mopar freinds and car guys-something should pop up

I saw your stories, both the sun and the free press.  Good idea!

The only red challenger that I recall from Winnipeg (that I hadn't seen at the shows etc) is the one I mentioned years ago to you.  It was early 90's.... It had the 440 six pack emblems on the hood and pulled away from my 318 Barracuda pretty quickly.  The owner probably remembers that day, considering the police got him as he was pulling up the bridge on North Lagimodiere.   :eek4:

Pretty sure that was a black vinyl top car with an obviously not-stock red paint (may have had metal flake type job).....

I'm guessing those articles should spark some reactions!
