I really like this area spring summer and fall-it`s just the damn winters!  :swear:  Her mom is retired so we may be able to relocate with us which would help a lot.She loves animals and especially horses so my plan is to find a real nice area down there to go horseback riding.  :2thumbs:

All I would have to do is tell my girlfriend that I was moving north. I tried to get her to move a little more south just the other night.  :cooldancing:

I would definitely spent some time scouting around. My wife and I spent 3 vacations checking out different areas until we found the place we liked and could afford and kept coming back to. Leaving family was very hard and they all still live in PA. My sister was upset and thought we were crazy to move but now she is talking about moving to North or South Carolina also. She just can't handle the winters anymore. It was easier for me because my wife wanted to move also. She also loves horses and use to ride and now we have a riding stable 1/2  mile from our house. Akien SC is very big hoses country. You might want to check it out.
If all the pleading fails then use DRUGS  :naughty: and when she wakes up she  :swear: will have a new home !!!
Good Luck

Jeff, sounds like you and RDF have the opposite problem about moving versus wives wanting to move, maybe you two guys ought to get in touch with that tv show about wife swaps  :roflsmiley:   :smilielol:  Sorry guys, bad joke. And as far as Russ's suggestion about the golf coast, those hurricanes would keep me away, I use to think that would be the best place in the lower 48 to live, but I've changed my mind the last few years. But NW Gerogia still looks inviting.

Take it from someone who knows....I'm trying to do the reverse!  I'm from New England and want to go back to Boston SOOOO bad.....I live in Orlando, FL now and while the weather is nice and all, not having family here makes it a drag.  I can handle the winters, but my wife can't.  She absolutley hates the cold, so I don't think there is any hope for me getting her to move.  I've been doing all the things mentioned; traveling to Boston 3 or 4 times a year to show her around, showing her nice houses, how great it is to have family near by......but it all seems for nothing.....she doesn't want to budge.  Oh well.....I tried..... :smilielol:

Maybe you and Torredcuda can just swap wives?   :roflsmiley:  :roflsmiley:

If you go to N.C., don't go in the woods. You'll get lost and they'll hunt you down.

whitesatin, don't worry about the big winds, lol. Just build a slippery house. No A-frames or straight walls but instead round.

 I'm way overdue gettin' back to the FloraBama!! :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: :drunk: This pic was taken many years ago. An old partially stripped 68 or 69 Tempest was in their parking area while i was partying with some friends that weekend so early in the day we stocked up on drinks. While there we gathered some tossed bottles, climbed in the Pontiac and made a spur-of-the-moment funny photo. I'm in the driver's seat with a liquor bottle of some sort  Always thought about getting it blown up poster size :smokin: Good times, man...good times

A short guide to Northerners thinking about trying to relocate to the South:
1. Please, please, whatever you do never, ever, start a sentence with, "Well, in Wisconsin, Michigan, fill-in-th-blank-with-your-former-state-of-residence, we did it differently..."
2. It's hot and humid in the summer. Like your snow, get used to it cause it ain't going away!
3. There is no pop here unless your dad comes with you. It's Coke, Sprite, or Mountain Dew.
4. You will hear Y'all, over yonder, darn near, ain't, and a host of other wonderfully useful phrases and words.
5. For god's sake don't try to fake the accent like they do in Hollywood, that will instantly insure bad feelings.
6. If your neighbors come over to meet you and maybe offer you dinner, they aren't trying to "case" your house they're just being friendly. Remember you're not in Philly...
7. Blend in, get along, accept us for what we have been and are trying to be today and you'll be glad you unloaded your moving van!
