very cool!

I'm not sure if you've seen mine but here's a picture. I am planning on putting the body on a 90's Ram chassis. I'll have to look you up when I get rolling on that this fall.

Well, not much gets done during fieldwork time.   :grinno:

But, I got the one rocker panel finished, and the 3rd coat of white brushed, yes I said brushed, on the top.  The one pic you can see how nice its gonna be.

OK guys, I quit brushing.  After the 4th coat it was too ripply for my liking.  So I'm spraying now.

You can see I have some major orange peel, but I'm not a pro, and thats what wetsanding is for.  Hopefully only one more coat or two.

Looks mean, dont it?

OK guys, I'm a CAD and PAINT nut and this is what I came up with.  Probably will be what my truck will look like.  Any and all opinions are ok!

(Judging by the lack of responses to my thread, no wonder these trucks arent popular   :roflsmiley:  )

Oh well, cheaper than an ebody!

Looks like you are making good progress!!  And by the way, old D-series trucks are cool!!     Ever thought about using a factory "Dude" style C stripe and re-wording it with Hemi???  :dunno:

Yep, I have thought about it.  But, I like my side trim too much.  Everyone seems to rip the trim off, so I want it on there.

Thanks!

I blasted my hood tonight with our water sandblaster. It hooks up to our pressure washer, and siphons sand from a bag/pail. One thing, dont let it dry by itself. You can guess what happens.   :icon16:

As long as you keep blasting, it wont be a problem. When you're done, just blow it dry fast. Then wipe it dry. I didnt blast the middle, cuz thats where my scoop is going.  I welded the scoop up tonight, hopefully I can get it working here shortly. I dont have a Hemi yet, so I can work on other things

Well, got the scoop hinges in.  Now I need to buy some solenoids to make it pop up.  It sits real nice and flat, wont be able to see it from the side when its down.

My cousin knows a guy who does custom vinyls to the side.  I'm going to have him make me a scaled version of the "air grabber" teeth guy.   :2thumbs:

Can you say HEMI?!!!

 :woo: :woohoo:

Removed all of the wiring tonight, I'll clean up the motor, pull the intake, new intake gasket (seems to be seeping a bit)  and paint it Hemi Orange.  Flat black valve covers, or whatever the factory 426 ones were.  I want it to look somewhat oldschool.  Boy am I excited!  Now I just need to find a tranny.   :walkaway:
