Steve, the progress is awesome!  That truck is going to be a blast once you're finished with it.  I know it took a while to get where you're at, but it was well worth all the headaches. :2thumbs:

Thanks guys.

Here we go.  There is a number on there, wonder what it means.

I wanted to get it primed tonight, but I was too busy filling pinholes, lol.  Got tired and I still should fix some rust near the back before I prime.  I'll try and get it done tomorrow.  It'll just be the underside, and I'll have to run and get some undercoating, too.  So much to do now its crazy...   :faint:

Other than a gazillion pinholes, and the bed ends (which I'm sure will be a nightmare to get back on), yes, the box is pretty straight.  Just a couple spots will need a touch of filler, but for the most part the sides are good and straight.  The tailgate is straight for the most part, but it does need a 2x3 patch in it.  That and where the arms that hold it up bolt on, that thing is bent, so who knows what its gonna take to fix that.  Big hammer I guess.

Welded on some pieces that were basically gone.  And no, as you can see, I dont want it coming off.

I got the bottom primed 45 minutes ago.  You can see where it is starting to dry.  I'm going to shoot some rattle can undercoating on it, put in the wood blocks, and bolt 'er on.  Give me a place to work on it, dad wants the shop back again.   :hyper: :working:

I primed till I ran out, thats why I got a couple of spots on the bottom edge primed.

Remember guys, this is a low cost, solid build.  It wont rust to pieces for a long time, and I'm going to drive it.  A lot.

Thanks Greg.

I painted the front so I can drop it on.  With a brush.   :woo: :eek7: :icon16:

Thats how far I got with two cans of rattle can undercoating.  Not nearly as far as I had hoped.  I'll have to pick some up tonight.  I have wedding rehersal tonight (not mine) I'm singing at a friends wedding tomorrow.   :)

lol, thanks guys.  Yes I do sing, I was in choir in school for 7 years, and have sang in church choir for 9 years.  Had a couple solos, nothing major.  I'd much rather sing in a group, but she asked me to so I said of course.

It took 6 cans of rattle can to cover it once and a little bit more.  There are still a few pinholes, but I marked them, and I'm going to hit them with some seam sealer on the topside after I prime.  I'm getting it line-x ed, so it wont be a problem.

The bed is officially on for good.  I think.

I love the rake, thats just the way the thing sits.  Oh, and I did have to cut and reweld the exhaust so it dropped down some, the pipes would have hit the bottom of the bed.

Got the one solid bed end on today.  Welded all of the topper holes? shut on the driver side, and got two stake holes filled.  Then I grenaded the grinder.   :banghead: :pullinghair: :stomp: :swear:

I gotta order a bearing...

But while I'm waiting for it, I should be able to fill in the rest of the stake holes and topper holes on the other side.

I have some swiss cheese that needs to be, er, fixed.

Wedding went fine, I didnt mess up.  I actually got quite a few compliments.   Food was good, dance was good, I'm pretty sure.   :clueless: :drunk:  Oh, and after the dance was good, too.   ;D

Well, remember the swiss cheese?

This is what a few hours gets you!

 :faint:

Talk about cutting and welding.  Cutting, welding, bending, cutting, welding, bending...    :1zhelp:

It's gonna need its share of filler, but it is behind the bumper, so I wont slather it on.     It really didnt turn out so bad.  What a mess, but I'm not done.  It needs a touch of cutting/welding yet, but the hard part is done.  I got that blue piece from my hood.

Ugh.  I just want to prime it and get it over with.   :pullinghair:
