Thanks guys.  DB, it seems very nice and tight when I tighten the nut up.   Ken, I agree, I think it will work good.

DB- the wire sheathing stuff I got from my sister.  She works at a boat/marine place, and they use it to rig boats.  Very very tough stuff.   :2thumbs:

I believe he wanted to tell you something about wires?  :dunno: ???

The truck is really coming along.  What a cool project.   :2thumbs:

The wire sleeving is this style, which is the same kind I used for my gauge panel:

http://cableorganizer.com/wire-management/

There are a two basic style, the "wrap-around" style or the solid one that you have to slide over all the wires.

Thanks for the link Travis.

Thanks Steve I am happy you posted your wire stuff I was looking for something other than that plastic tubing for some wires I need to run.

Will you be able to start that thing soon?

Hey Steve this tread was getting low on the page so I thought I woud put it on top and see what your doing on the project. I suppose since it's getting spring out you guys are getting ready for farming instead of the pick up.

Hey guys.  Yes, we are getting very busy farming.  I just got a card from Summit, saying that my backordered fittings still havent been shipped.  Now they wont ship until the 24th.   :faint:

So I cant get my fuel system done for a couple weeks.

BUT, on the bright side, I called a guy that does custom exhaust work out of his own place.  He is very affordable, includes mufflers and tips, and off the top of his head he said $250 to $350.  There's no way I will touch exhaust for that, what a deal!  The muffler shop in town wont do it for less than $500.  He said it was OK if it didnt run.  So next week I think I'm planning on bringing it up to his place and getting it done.

Still havent even thought about a starter yet.   :pullinghair:

I dont think any part of this project has gone smoothly.   :faint:

Welcome to the world of Custom. It still applies to stock also. If it went easy what challenge would that be?

Well, I dropped off of the truck at an exhaust shop today.  He said he'd do it all for $250.  I tried to keep it under control, and I did.  There's no way anybody could touch it for that.  He said I could come and pick it up next week.  One problem though, I need a different passenger side exhaust manifold.  I believe that the Jeep Hemi has more clearance.  I'll have to check it out.    :stirpot:

Nice to see you get a little time to spend on the truck. Good luck with the exhaust work.

Did you get all your line and fitting put in or did you tow the truck over for exhaust work?

Yeah, I trailered it.  It was about a 45 minute one way trip.  But I know he does good work.  I was going to rig up something just to hold the o2 sensors, but I said the heck with it.  This way it will be done right the first time, and not wreck something.  My fittings ship tomorrow, (hopefully) and next week I might be able to work on the fuel system.   :2thumbs:

Scott- I got it from the local John Deere dealer.  I dont know if they normally sell it to customers, but we do a ton of business there, and they use it in the shop to seal old tractor tanks.  They said it has never failed them, and they have been using it for years.  I'm sure any tractor dealer would have some.  If not, check like Eastwood, I know they have some.

It said on the can not to shake it, more like roll it around.  I put one coat on, it says on the can that you can do two, but only if the first coat is completely dry.  It says its completely dry when you cant smell it.  One tip though- it says to empty it into a can after you've rolled it around.  Well, I did, and even after I drained what I could, it still ran out on the floor out my sump hole.  I wasnt very happy.   :banghead: :stomp:  So I would let it sit and dry on a side that doesnt have a hole on it.   :2thumbs:
