His ego got as big as his fat azz!
Around 10 years ago I was at a show parked next to a nice '69 Daytona. The guy mentioned to me that his master cylinder was going bad. I told him I had a correct NOS one I'd sell him, but the one on his car was wrong. He got all irate at me and yelled "Galen certified my car, he would have told me if the master cylinder was wrong!!!!!" I told him on a 440 car the lines exited toward the engine, not toward the fender. I had the right part he needed. He wasn't convinced.
At the time, Galen was writing a column in MCG, and several months after the show, Galen mentioned in his column that a client called him recently saying he had the wrong master cylinder on his car. Galen said in his column, that he told the guy if anyone says something like that, to tell them Galen has inspected this car and said it was correct and therefore it is correct!
I'm sure he was talking about the guy with the Daytona and me. What an arrogant idiot.
Wedge disc brake B bodies from 68-70 had a master cylinder with lines exiting toward the engine, casting number 2226821. I'm sure Galen knew that, but his big fat ego wouldn't allow him to admit he'd missed that on the Daytona and made a mistake.
