someone should ask CODY if it hurt-
if i remember right -he was over his place for dinner or something-he was very happy about it-he even invited me-

i'm just glad i have never had to pay someone to tell me what i have had and still have out of the 45 cars my father and i have owned in the last 30 yrs and the 12 i still own-and at the time i purchased my toys-i could probably sell 1 or 2 and get all my money back for all my cars i have purchased-

as bnorth put it-
"If it takes someone else's opinion, authority, or certification to make you feel good about your car then you are in this for all of the wrong reasons...unless you are trying to just use them to get more money for your car...which would mean you are in this for all the wrong reasons too.

After years of having fun with my beloved E-Bodies since I was a teen, I am sick and tired of all of this "correct" resto bull nuts that so many are all hung up on.... and you know what else if you didnt build your car or put some real blood and sweat into it, but you are all hung up on this crap I dont care how correct it is you aint nuts !"

bnorth hit it right on the head!!"

...I can decode most MOPARS about as good as GG.....I learned years ago so I would know what I was buying....anyone who buys a big $$$ MOPAR and doesn't know enough about them to know if the car is real,  probably should stay out of the hobby till they learn what they are doing....having his name on a piece of paper means nothing to me when purchasing a car....he is attempting to be a one man "Bloomington Gold" of the MOPAR  world

Unfortunately my opinion is that GG has gotten too damn big for his own britches. He is the know-it-all to the magazines and they prop up him and his propeganda. I had GG do some deciphering for me over 20 years ago when he was just getting started. He did good for me at that time and was reasonable....but seeing how all consider him a MoPaR GOD, and the experinces that I have had since and the experiences of others, I can only conclude that he has placed himself miles above those of us common folk....I will and have gone elsewhere....besides, most anything that you need to know about these cars, is now online. Maybe at some point, GG may have to resort to decoding 318 Challengers and Barracudas for a living because others may put him out of business due to his messed up attitude....JMO!

Yet another unhappy customer of good old Galen Govier...I've heard so many horror stories pertaining to that guy.  He's quick to cash in your check, but drags his feet producing any information for his clients. :swear: :stomp: :pullinghair:  I still may have to go up to Prairie Du Chien and pay him a visit one of these times. :naughty:  It's sad someone who is so "sacred" according to many publications treats his customers this way. :villagers:

The only reason i went to him was he does seem the have the best decode sheet, not just what i can get off the net but several other options lists that come with the package.

It is sad, to say the least. About 10 years ago when I bought the 70 Charger 500 and started to do some background history and such I realized it was probably the purist and rareist Mopar I'd ever own, not that is anything super special except to me. At any rate I contacted Galien and long story short he decoded and document the car, I had him also make (which he dosen't personally do ) another fender tag, and I had him also make a replacement window dealer sticker. Well, none of this was cheap, but I wanted it done for me only because the car is worth more to me than probably anyone. It all took near a year to be completed. And yes there was one lil mistake that was so obvious, on the widow sticker when the paint code of FY1 was printed it then identified the color as Lemon Twist which was Plymouth's name for the same paint code. I Called, sent e-mails, sent photo copy of his sticker via registered mail requesting a corrected copy. No response of any kind. So in my mind for a $35.00 project (the then price for a window sticker) he has decided that was more important to him than his reputation as an honest business man who could make a mistake but correct it.

Now three years ago I saw him in one of the buildings at Carlisle and politely asked him about this and when I could expect a corrected copy. Well at the time a couple Viper owners (well they at least had Viper shirts) were standing nearby waiting to speak to him. I won't say he was outright rude, but me and my little problem was quickly dismissed so he could talk to some more important people I guess. And yes, I still have all copies of the correspondance I sent to him, just to verify my story as legit. It sadly seems that anymore all he is interested is being paid to attend all the national Mopar shows by the staff and of course attend the BJ auctions in Scottsdale each year, expenses paid also of course. Again very sad, I'm told he once was not this kind of guy.   :dunno:

So I assume you never got the corrected copy
Years ago , mid 80s I owned a Warlock truck But it had the Power Wagon Pkg on it , 4x4 360 E58
I asked him if the truck was rare & approx what the production of the truck would be & he told me 50% of the Warlocks were 4x4 Power Wagons .........Yeah Right ... ever seen one ? Virtually every Warlock I have seen is 2 wd , I did find a couple of 4x4s on Ebay , my guess woudl be closer to 5%

One of the mistakes on my T/A window sticker is it's got a white painted stripe. I cannot remember the last time I saw a T/A with a white stripe. I guess mine must be the 1 of 1! :smilielol:  I'm guessing his run is about over. If you notice he has made it through all the Mopar mags which seem to drop his articals  and has landed in MCG. When they dump him where will he go?

By the way if you need a window sticker contact Triple A Enterprizes in Mich. Talk to Brad at 248-935-8628. It took him around a week and I had my correct window sticker in hand!

I saw him at a show last year & wasn't impressed with his attitude.  Kinda snobbish if you ask me. He even made a joke about never answering his correspondence.  You would think with the money he makes he could hire another secretary.  Some freinds of mine are having their cars decoded by him next week, I can't remember what they are paying. I will have to ask how it went.

What a waist of good money. I don't understand how someone can ignore his customers and stay in buisness. I know I will NEVER deal with him again. I have no problem telling everyone I come in contact what a waist of money it is to try to get anything from him. With everyone that deals with him that has a bad experiance and tells all, why do people still send him credit cards and wait for years? It only took me once!!

I have dealt with him,and walked away laughing. One of the things that he does, is take your information and puts it into his database for his records. He has all the information on my car and has giving me nothing. The only reason I contacted him, was that I thought being the expert on these cars he could help me.With all the research I have done on my car,I doubt he could tell me anything.I look at it this way.If he can run a business and turn away people, great for him.I saw him at the Barrett Jackson auction. He was on the stage, and they were talking to him about one of the cars up on the Auction Block. Some one asked him how many diffrent colors a car came in,and guess what he said (I don't know).I thought that was pretty funny.I will only charge him $50.00,and do research on all the diffrent Mopar colors out there.I promise him,I will return his call (maybe)
