« on: March 21, 2007 - 05:36:33 PM »
I saw some pics of the new Avenger and it looks almost identical to the Charger. Is it replacing the Charger or will they offer both and what if any are the differences?

How does this stuff get started?  It's the replacement for the smaller Dodge, the old Avenger.  It does look like a baby Charger.

I heard that they are going to run both the Avenger and the Charger in Nascar for a while.

Yes.  The Avenger is the "Car of Tomorrow"

The Charger will be run at most of the races this year.  The Avenger will be used in a handful of races this year, and will run a full schedule next year.   :2thumbs:

You mean the generic car body with Avenger and/or Charger stickers on it, right?

It does look like a baby Charger but I think it's built on a different platform, a smaller one.

Before seeing the Dodge link I was hoping that it was going to replace the Charger and then a "new" Charger was coming out.   I'm still hoping for the '99 concept or something similar.......  :walkaway:

looked just like the "charger " to me...they need to get back to the long wide flat grills

they can still get a 'crosshair" look if they try.(been done)

The '99 Charger concept looks too much like the last gen 300 to me.

With all the bellyaching about the truck grills, looks like an excellent opportunty for aftermarket grill makers to produce some great looking replacement grills for these cars.   If Ma Mopar wont listen to us, maybe the aftermarket will......    :cooldancing:

Just keep hoping that Dodge does something smart about the up and coming challenger instead of the 4-door charger :crying:  New Challenger screams "I'm a Dodge!"  Charger just doesn't scream much of anything to me :2cents:

The new Avenger is actually the replacement for the Stratus.  It is the sister car to the new Chrysler Sebring.

Most people comment that it looks like a little Charger...I don't really see that, except for the fender line behind the doors.  But I do like this new Avenger (and the Sebring, for that matter).

The 99 Charger concept was based on the previous LH platform (Intrepid, Concorde, 300M), so it's beyond hope of being produced now.  But I do hope that they include some of that 99 concept style into the Charger when they update it.  To me, that concept had the Charger look, without being an exact copy.
