Really, Enterprise should drive right to you and bring you another truck. It's not your fault. And I would insist that they do that for you.
Tell Enterprise, that they screwed up, and it is there responsibility to make it right.
I would also tell them that if I got arrested for driving a stolen truck, the next call they would be getting would be from my lawyer.
Car rental companies are always saying you need to do this or you need to do that when it their fault for something. Their customer service skills suck.
Like you Allen, I have to rent cars for my work every time I travel. I have gotten to locations to pick up a car, and they tell me sorry we don’t have the type of car you requested, would you like to pay for an upgrade? B.S. I was renting a small truck for $19.95 a day for two weeks. I stood my ground and the ended up giving me a Lincoln Navigator for the same price.
Hold your ground Alan.
