Front Speaker Locations

Has anyone done anything else creative with their front speakers. I saw the kick-panel install here on the site, but I'm wondering if anyone did anything different. Under-dash, whatever. Pics are always encouraged.

I have kickpanel 5 1/4s, anything underdash would sound great to your feet in my opinion. Not too many options in our cars,  just my

Did you fab your own, or cut the existing ones?

I just bought ones that someone already cut the hole in. Nothin fancy.

Did you have any problems with speaker depth? I know there isn't much space between the kick panel and the outer wall.

Just needed a couple washers behind the ebrake assembly.

That looks pretty good. I'm not keeping the car original, I'm not opposed to cutting the kick panels. I know the e-brake may be an issue, but it looks like you got it to clear.

Its close, just needing spacing enough away from it. I bought a set of jacked up panels, i still have my nice originals just incase.

Yeah, my panels are just "ok", so it's not like i'm going to sacrifice a lamb. We'll see how it turns out. I have to finish the rest of the electrical harness first. Just trying to plan ahead.

I don't have any good pics, but my father came up with this idea.  We cut an aluminum plate to the size of the original dash speaker and put two smaller speakers (I think 3") on the plate and wired it.  I have two 6x9s in the back, and everything works great.

You didnt have to cut the dash then, did you?  Im looking for options.  Without doing something I cant put back

As far I can remember we did not have to do anything to the dash.  My dash is still the original and it does not have any cracks, so we would not dare cut it.
