WORK TRUCKS--Well i've had both Cummins and Powerstroke. The Cummins was a 4x4 3500 automatic quad cab, great torque and mid range. It was hard on ball joints got around 16 to 18 mpg drive around and 19 to 20 hwy. Drove it 152000 then sold it, guy made me an offer i couldnt refuse and i was fixing to have to put another ball joint in it. The Powerstroke i've still got. Its the older F350 7.3, 5 spd, bullet proof i think. The new 6.0 has nothing for it. I've got 219000 on it, get around 18 to 20 mpg loaded, empty, city or Highway. Its got decent torque good mid range and never ending top end. I just recently had to put a clutch in it and a new turbo. Also along the way i've put three water pumps on it but other than that its just been routine service. Its a good truck and i have no intentions of selling it. Cant handle a $500 truck bill every month.
PLAY TRUCK--Nothing tops a well tuned Lil Red. A Shelby Dakota is fairly quick. Had a Dakota, it was alot of fun. Will always have the Lil Red (lord willing). That Lil Red likes to calm the storm of a cyclone or hurricane or explosion or whatever those new trucks are called. Got up beside a 5.7 short bed (Hemi--not really) the other day with 20 inch tires and he was quick (he was hooking up and i was not) but that Lil Red Truck will make em sweat. Its going to do some growing this next winter. Wont be Lil no more, going to slide a Lil 383 in her. I suspect i'll have serious traction problems then. MOPOWER.
