Well I was trying to have the underbody and the 451 completely finished by today and probably would have if I didnt get sidetracked with the old 383. I figured that since it was already on the stand, that I might as well tare it apart, inspect it, paint it, and make a nice trophy out of it. The bores were all in great condition except for cylinder 5, which had a groove in it....could easily be bored out but wonder how it even got there. Was going to take the piston out to further investigate but figured I better not waste more time. I slapped it together but left everything untorqued and will get back to it at a later time. Anyhow, I did manage to get the 451 pretty much done and started fitting the accessories
and got as far as I can go till my alternator comes in. I ran into one small problem, my dual line for the carb is 3/4" away from the distibutor because I had to use the adapters for the Demon. I'm going to try cutting and flaring it an inch lower for clearance, hopefully I can get it to work because I dont care much for the flex hose
Also got the underbody pretty much complete after scraping at it for hours....will probably have it finished tommorow. Im pretty much on schedule right now, but probably wont be for long because I have to go back to work
O well, it was good while it lasted. I think I can still scrape some time together and hopefully get something done by next week.
I ordered some of the xv motorsport ones, for 179 they are hard to beat! However yours would easily be removed.
Kind of wish I would have went with the XV/uscartool connectors. I welded in my connectors, so they wont be that easy to remove
