What cam do you think would work and what is the difference in hydraulic and solid? Which would be more suited for my combo? The Engle K56 or K58 sound like my top two picks. I've also heard a lot of good reports and posts on the Racer brown stuff. I think the K56 is the one for me, it has better low down response. Although, it's "only" 200rpm difference so perhaps the K58? The K58's lift is bigger and so is the dur@.50, not sure if they means much but when I've been looking the bigger those numbers usually means the better?

The specs for the camshafts are below, check the photo name for the spec.
K56 first and K58 last.

Just to let you know for the future, the best way to find out how your camshaft will work is to look at the dur@.050", since this is the place where the camshaft starts to work.  Most of the Advertised dur is measured at .006" and varies a bunch between companies, so it is not a good spec to compare. 

Both of those choices seem like good camshafts, it would be a hard choice for me also.  With everything else equal, the K58 may get you 15 more hp and 5-10 more torque, but at a slightly higher RPM (over 3000).  The K56 may get you 5-10 less peak torque but the lower rpm torque might be better on the street.  Now these are just estimates, it is really hard to compare two cams without knowing all of the specs (compression, intake, etc) of the motor.  The K58 will have a little more noticeable exhaust tone.

Also the RPM that the companies give you is the power range the cam works best in, it does not mean they won't work any higher or lower in the RPM range.  It really depends on how the engine is setup over all.  Since you are going with a manual, you should be able to get away with the K58 without any problems. If you had an auto, then you might of had to slighly increase the stall of the converter.

Also many of the stock mopar heads required some grinding of the valve guides(I think) if the lift of the cam was much over .500" lift.  To be safe, I would get your engine builder to check the clearance if you go with the bigger cam.

It doesn't come with solenoids (not that I know what they are). How many solenoids does it need? With that kit I get the coolness of a 6bbl set up, hood clearance and carb/intake matter solved in one hit. Will this kit bolt on to my 308 heads 2.02" intakes without any mods?

On the SixPak:  I would also like to lift the hood and show off three carbs, but you have to ask yourself a question; Are you building this engine to drive or to show off to others? 

If you are building it to drive, then the 4bbl would be easier to tune and less stuff to deal with, plus extra parts are cheaper.  If it is to show off, then go with the SixPak because you will get more attention.

Not sure on the solenoids.

And yes, it should bolt onto the 308 heads.

Thanks Jacksboys, good info indeed. :2thumbs:

The engine will be built for go, I think it maybe best to talk to my engine builder and run the choices I have so far (K56, K58, intakes, etc, etc) and then go from there. Thanks for the tips on what to look for in regards to cams etc.

The 6 pack will bolt onto the 308 heads , I have usually had great results both milage & power with the 6 pack system but they are harder to work on , they will stay adjusted once dialed in though
 I ahve used a lot of both the Engle K56 & K 58 cams , Jacksboys is on target with the suggestions , K 58 has more top end power & the K 56 more mid range , either are good cams
