I live in the Bay Area in N. Ca.. E-bodies are rarely seen on the road.
Don't think they originally sold a lot of them around here compared to the mid-west...maybe because the imports were invading the left coast first.
Last week I seen a fairly clapped out Challenger on the 101 with a '73 ish rear and a '70 front...or maybe the whole grille was just missing.
Thats only the second e-body I've seen on the road in over a year (maybe several years) and I average close to 20k miles a year driving.
But I'm running mine up and down the 680
regularly so others can see them.
The 440-six pack with the 3:23 definitely is a highway car. Scarey fast especially with excess play in the steering.
Hits a 100 like that. Love that six pack sound and surge, kind of like a turbo the way you can feel it kick in and then drop back out.
Little off topic....My 11 year old son pointed out a '70ish Mustang coming at us yesterday and asked what it was and while it was still aways-away I said it was a Mach-1, but was surprised when it passed that it was actually a Boss 302. I hadn't seen one of those driving on the road in decades.
I just enjoy seeing the older cars. As far as a '71 hemi clone...my eyes aren't as good as they used to be so i can't read the VIN as they go by.
