need 1973 barracuda value
« on: March 30, 2007 - 09:06:50 AM »
I know it all depends on the car  but i found a nice 73 barracuda  that was a 318 colum shift car
that now has a  mp crate 360 .
car needs nothing  i'd give it a 8 out of  10.has
new paint and interior. he wants 20k  but i feel thats to high for a 73 barracuda
I was thinking 15k
whats your opinion,

20K may be a little high, bu thard to say without seeing pictures....I know i'd buy a clean 73 with a good motor for 20K if the color was right.  :2thumbs:

It is hard to gauge a price without a photo of the car, but if it was done professionally and looks exceptionally nice, then it'd be safe to expect to either pay for or sell a similar car for between $18,000-$20,000.00.  I'm making this assumption based off just how much I have into my '73 Challenger project right now. (close to $10,000 and that was with an original purchase price of $1,750 and not really too bad rust-wise.)

Yeah finding nice 4spd cars are impossible, i've been looking for months. Thats why i'm building a 4spd conversion, just need a few more parts.

Are those pics of the same car?   Look at the first one.....the driver's side mirror is painted, but in the 2nd pic, it's not.  ???   :clueless:  Even the driver's side hood looks like it has an engine emblem on it and the 2nd pics doesn't.

Not trying to bash the car or anything, but maybe the pics were taken at 2 different times???

That is rather strange.  But as far as the car's condition goes, I'd say the price tag isn't too bad for that car.  Perhaps more towards $18,500.00 for a Barracuda and not a 'Cuda, but the car looks very clean and is nicely done so it'd probably be tough for the seller to budge from his asking price.

it does have a cracked dash ,the  pic was before the new paint job. I just can't see paying that kind of money for a 73 barracuda unless it was all numbers matching.

ok, so then the different pics makes sense.

I'd say it's tough to get that kind of money for the car.  I've got a 73 'Cuda (BS23G) and I paid 13k for it.  Now the body has some minor flaws and bubble-ups in the paint, but it's a solid driver and looks good from 20ft away!  But I'd say it's probably worth more around 15k, especially b/c it's a barracuda.  Remember, some people are letting Barrett Jackson run their mids on prices.... :screwy:  :nono:
