73 Cuda Barn Fire - Pile
« on: March 30, 2007 - 09:49:58 AM »
offering this as a possible parts car basically the front clip is in one piece ( before I cut the rest of it ) - title and copy of the build sheet from Haggerty Ins. claim.

quick story she was an all original real cuda second owner only 27000 original documented miles before the barn burned that transformed her from beauty into the beast!

I cut it in pieces to remove the rusted floors that were shot from all the debris ( burned wood piled up at least 2' high inside soaked with water and sitting for about two years - melted glass - dash - interior - exterior paint - burned up tires ect.
cut the roof, quarters & fenders off since the metal was beyond repair. doors, trunklid where tossed out because they too had way too much wrapage to even try and save.

When have you ever seen a car like this one before?   :22yikes:
I think I'm holding the new title ' king of the pile' now that I own it!!!     :scared:

my hope was to see if anyone wanted it before I remove whats left. firewall half way down is gone with the center wiper motor area, brake area still good as is the A/C - heater passenger side outlets. complete front frames, tortion bar crossmember, inner fenders, large block radiator support, upper cowl. It has surface rust both sides. whats left of it is solid metal with surface rust on both sides. It would need to have apply rust convertor on it all.

also the rear trunk gutter surround with sail panel and partial rear window is in one piece with the speaker tray and X brace.
I have the front door A pillars with the windsheild post and rockers however the kick panel next the firewall is not good.

quote' That's not a burnt orange vert?'     :) on second thought - maybe I should relist it as that!

It was a fluke thing about the fire, was electrical, everything was done proper and was not too old. Only guess he has is maybe it was the battery tender's? No lightling storm's or shorts they could find.
Yeah it hurt him right in the pocket book too. Had it listed for less than its worth to save on the Insurance cost. A costly lesson learned the said about that. He had three cars all original low mile type's perfect condition.
He said it hurt bad to look at them after the fact. How could one ever find a low mile show type car replacement again?

440WB,  Can you send me a pic of the trunk surround? I need a piece off of it.   Specifically the left trunk gutter and quarter top.

Hey shelbydogg-

its a solid piece with only surface rust from the paint burning off. about half of the top quarter is on with the full trunk lip to the rear tail panel.

I will have to get you better pics.

email me direct so I dont have to make them smaller.

bearcuda --

I think he had a charger or RR --
and a Challenger with this cuda.

They all were low mileage original vehicles that were hard to find
that took him years to find.
