TA block for sale
« on: March 31, 2007 - 01:29:14 PM »
I have a TA block for sale. all cylinders bored to 60 over. All they need is a finish hone. I had the block dipped and all scale is cleaned out of the water jackets and oil passages are clean. It's been Magnafluxed for cracks and it's good to go. Also had it Align Honed. I paid big bucks for the block and my plans changed so I hope it finds the original owner. As you can see it has been o-ringed. I'm just outside Toledo Ohio and can help deliver or crate on a pallet.
First $5000.00 takes it. phone 419-878-5099

You'd better coat that block really good with oil or cosmoline or something. It will set a very long time before someone buys that for 5k unless you find the original owner and they want it really bad.

Why so much :dunno: :clueless: Yeah it's rare, but it's super rare for 1 car.  Anyone else wanting a yr correct block could buy one for 500 bucks.  Prices are on the decline on everything it seems.

Hope the original car owner sees this...Good luck

I was thinking the same thing, but did not have a good way to say it.

Me too.  I wasnt gonna stick my foot in my mouth when I first saw it.

My feet continuously flop in my mouth  But I had to say it the way I saw it. Not knocking anything, even a clone t/a wont bring bigger bucks with a date coded 340 or a date coded t/a 340.  The word clone means to most=fake, so it doesnt matter. A t/a block for 5k is extreme unless you have the car to match. Can you imagine how much it would cost to do a complete 340 t/a clone engine at that price? More then the cars actually worth. (so to speak)      #'s matching engine @ 15k for a clone car? I'd say I am taking offers and not just throw 5k at anyone. Find out the marlet for a bare block that has been max bored already. Remember it is bored .060 already, And align bored so big holes and loose chain is a flag in my head already. Good luck OHIO CUDA, maybe somebody needs that block that bad :stirpot:

You think Barry knows who this block might belong to?  Could be useful to them.  But $5K for a bare block is a little high IMO.

I have to disagree here. When I sold my 71 cuda clone (and I have seen this with many other clones) one of the first questions everyone asks is if the block is date coded. And in todays market having a date coded engine in a clone does matter. I do agree though that the price is high, especially since it is bored so much.

Just found it on ebay, so we'll see what the ebay masses are willing to pay.

It's got a $900.00 bit right now. I did see a complete T/A engine sell for almost $12k last winter on Ebay. It was complete from carbs to oil pan with trans. I thought  :eek2:

Thanks for the feed back. I talked with Barry to see if he had it on the list. I know it's expensive but I paid big bucks for the block. Then put more money into it to make sure it was good. Hey plans change so win some, loose some. If it doesn't sell I'll hang onto it for another project down the road. Thanks for looking.
