Fit wise, they are the same. The 70's didn't have a crush zone though. I have NO idea what I am saying, I'm just repeating what I've read here on other threads.  :grinyes:

I have a 71 hood on my 70 Challenger. From what I have found, the 71 hood has crumple zones, and the front molding is screwed from the bottom, instead of the studs as on the 70 model.

Oh yeah, one other thing is that the bolts used to attach the hood to the hinges are larger for the 71.

Why, do you have a 70 hood?  I may consider a trade  :naughty:

No, I would be doing the same thing as you.......I would be putting a 71 hood on a 70 car.     Sorry

Well then, I am just planning on tacking in some sheet metal and filling up the crush zones.

Don't do it.  The crumple zones are a mid 1970 change

But my build date is Oct 69.  Maybe I will leave it alone anyway, but since the molding was on the front, I know that it was off a 71.
