[Burpin Chunks]

Burpin is taking the carpet out of his Cuda. It was installed a couple of years ago and is in like new shape. Infact there is nothing wrong with it. Burpins Cuda however is a 4 speed and it was slit to slip the shifter through. Will this carpet work is there a center console? Let Burpin know and Burpin will pack it up and ship it out. Burpin is going with the carpet style from 71 or older. Burpin nae like the 72 and on carpet look.

I did go out to Alabama this weekend and bought and brought home the car!!!      Would you believe I did not bring my camera!!!  so sorry!  But I did get some with my cell phone. 

I have it in the garage and can take a bazillion pictures. I will try to put some up this evening.  Now... is there anyone who can get it from Marietta, GA to Ohio?

Looks good Rev!  Don't feel bad about the camera thing....when I went to get mine I forgot my camera too!  I think I was too excited and forgot it sitting on the counter that morning.

If anyone decides to haul the car and you need equipment, let me know.  My dad runs a U-Haul place out of boston and he may be able to get us a discounted rate for a truck or hauler.  My car hauler cost me $250.00 from VA to Boston....but I had to use my own truck to tow it.  At any rate, the option is there incase we can't find anyone to haul this car up there.  I wish I could do it, but we just found out my wife is pregnant (with our 3rd) so we're trying to arrange daycare and other things for my 2 other kids now.  I REALLY wanted to be there for Carlisle, so please be sure to take lots of video and pics as I'd like to see his face when it happens.

Excellent news!!           Thanks alot REV!!  So do we have a fender tag??  I see it has a luggage rack!  Did it come stock??  Once it makes it to Ohio, I will drive down and take a look to see what I can do to help.  We had better keep this moving if we are going to get it done in time!

I know you got to drive it on the trailer How did you like the tone of that monster 318?   I hope it is what I tried to describe to everyone. I was afraid I might of made enemies, you know as a used car salesman.

From the looks of it, you did a great job describing the car, Moparal!   That's great you found one that fell within the right price range and should be able to be fixed up quite well by the time Carlisle rolls around.   I wish I lived closer and had more time to be able to make it down and help out some, but it looks like I'll be quite busy right up until July.   Maybe I can help out more money-wise once I get out of school and have more time for making some good money again.

Yes, I did get to drive it onto the trailer.  We were very surprised at how she sounded.  They poored a little gas in the carb and it started right up.  She sounded really, really, healthy for a 318.  The trans seemed to shift pretty smoothly too.  The brakes were a bit scary....      But all in all.... I think we did really well.

I was thinking the same thing after I posted that and went back to read more on the car.  Don't know if he'll have the room or space for it though.  Are we definately tossing the motor and trani for the 440 and 4spd?  Could the money we spend in getting the 440-4spd setup to work go towards the clean-up of the 318 to keep it in the car?  Too bad this thing wasn't closer, I'd tear down that whole moter, clean it, paint it, and get it back to you guys.  I live in Orlando, FL Rev, if you want to set something up to meet me with the motor on a trailor or something.  Just a suggestion.....trying to think of everything possible here....

Were down to appx 11 weeks to do this car. Most of the work will be completed on the weekends. That's only 22 days to do this car. I know we have a 440 donated, but we have a running drive train already in the car. There appears to be some body work, alot of interior, and some trouble shooting on what does and doesn't work. Our budget doesn't support going through everything and replacing it for now. We still need to find transport to my shop and need to get an idea as to who can come and when to help on the project. I am very excited to help to get this project started. We can do it, but we need to get organized in a short amount of time.
