Where can you get original *looking* tires?

Sorry if this has been discussed before - I could not find it when searching...

I am putting 15x7 repop rallye wheels on the Challenger, and I was hoping to get modern radial tires that look like the original bias ply tires.

I know that Coker makes the actual bias-ply Firestone/Goodyear style, but not in radial.  And I have seen that Diamond Tire offers 'classic-look' radials, but they only have redline (or whitewall) tires.

So does anyone make radial reproductions of the Firestone 'Wide-Oval' tires or Goodyear 'Polyglass' tires?   
Or is the only option to get modern tires (BFG Radial T/A, Goodyear Eagle II...) that look sort of 'classic'?

How do you use your car? How much do you drive it? What are your alignment specs?

I ask because there are a number of guys I know who use their cars so infrequently and are so into the restored look, that I wonder if actually using a bias ply tire is such a big sacrifice. If you only go to an occasional park and show, make a once a year trek to a big display an hour away, drive a few weekends a year, why not use bias ply?

I can see myself driving my car once a week when its dry.  I do enjoy driving it a lot, so I am looking for an old looking radial.

I hit the highway to go to Carlisle and would like the handling of a radial. I remember driving bias plys as a teenager and the radials were a vast improvement. Although the bias plys were better then retreads

I agree with some of the earlier comments.  Although my car is still in the 'project' stage, I imagine it will be driven to Friday night cruises, occasional shows, and that sort of thing.  But I also want to be able to hit the highway on occasion (Columbus is only a few hours away!)

I also remember bias ply tires when I was younger, and I don't care to go there again!  I like the old-school look, but the safety/handling of radials...That is why I'm hoping I can find radial tires that look like the originals.

When I bought my Challenger last summer, it came with biased tires.   The look is great -- but the radials I put on made it handle like 100% better -- absolutely no comparison!

I've seen repro redlines, whitewalls, even blue streak tires, but never polyglas and wide oval. Even the radial copies do have a different shoulder and tread appearence, so aside from teh graphics, they don't really look much alike, IMO.

You will have to pay shipping or sales tax...you can not buy them from another state, and have someone pick them up...or they will charge them the sales tax...

shipping for four was going to run me $60-80 for for, plus tire cost, and then the cost of instalation when they got here ...

Thanks for the replies.  As stated in the original post, I am aware of Coker, but they offer the actual bias-ply tires, which are not what I'm looking for.

PlumCrazy: Thanks for the referral to Kelsey Tire.  Unfortunately, their website is down this morning, but I will keep looking.

So far, it looks like there are no radial reproductions of the original tires offered (Wide Oval or Polyglass).  The modern BFG are great tires - I was just hoping for the 'old-school' look.
