if it has never been filled you can use F type for more friction , most use Dextron 3 use this if the trans has been filled before & do not mix F & dextron

Hey Chryco,
How do I drain ALL the fluid if there is no drain plug on the torque converter. I'd like to try F type in my tranny, I drained it the best I could, replaced the filter and refilled it with B&M Trickshift but still don't like it. Would the F type work any differently assuming the B&M could be mixed with ??? since it may not have been drained completely?

You can't drain it all out if there is no plug in the converter.I am not a fan of B&M trick shift fluid,it is over priced.I have not seen any difference in the performance of a performance transmission between type f ,dexron or trick shift.

Basically the ONLY way to use F type is to have a fresh rebuilt trans still dry inside & fill it with F type , once Dextron has been in the trans F type is not recommended
