The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly
« on: April 04, 2007 - 07:41:43 PM »
This Challenger was a 72 Rallye 318 3sp in Top Banana with black top and interior and Rallye gauges. It was in a garage along with a motorhome and a white Shelby Dakota. The Dakota made it with very minimal damage but the motorhome and this Challenger were total losses. An electrical fire that began in the attic was the cause and as the pictures show, it was pretty intense :walkaway:
The Ugly is evident, and so is the bad. The good is that once the insurance claim is settled, my cowl and under- the-rear-seat rust issues will have a solution; i get a perfect set of rear bumper guards.
Just curious, but is the tail panel on a 72 Challenger different than a 73-74?

A friend of mine lost his Corvette the same way. Sorry for your loss. The first time that I seen this I just thought that it was an abandoned car. I hadn't taken time to read the post. Thats me opening my mouth before thinking.

Dang Russ, when did this happen?  I'm glad nobody was injured and it was only cars.  They can be replaced.  Let me know if I can help....        Old's Cool

Same tail panel 72 3 and 4.  Only the Bumper brackets, guards and plastic surrounds were changed to protect the innocent  :2thumbs:

Ouch, that really sucks for the owner. :'(  At least some of it will be able to used in your car.  (Fire damage is the worst 'cause it warps everything and makes it just about impossible to afford repairing all the damages, not to mention the plastic and weaker parts just go up in smoke.)
