Well the garage is full of Challengers (pics)
« on: April 05, 2007 - 06:43:45 PM »
Well we finally got the wife's 1971 R/T Challenger home from long term storage.
Now all the Challengers are under one roof. :2thumbs:

It was restored by her father in the 80's and given to her as a gift.
Sadly her father passed away a few months ago so the wife requested we get the car home and get it roadworthy again.
Over the years we have been soo busy with school, work, the kids, building a new house and all the other life and Mopar projects that the car hasn't been driven in about 10 years now ???
It sat so long the brakes actually rusted solid and the car had to be towed home.
The body, paint and interior are still in show quality condition so it's time to get the car back into good mechanical shape. It's an origina l340 R/T that now has a 440 sixpack in it.
I guess I'm out of excuses as to not working on them. :icon16:
Behind the wife's Challenger is my original plum crazy 1971 R/T Challenger also waiting for some attention from me.
Up on the lift to the right is my street/strip 1973 Ralley Challenger, I bought it 27 years ago at age 15, it was the first car I ever owned

Thanks everyone.

Yes,  I have waaay too many projects and never enough time.
The wife and I have been very busy over the years concentrating on so many other things, the Mopar projects have definitely been neglected.
I do feel fortunate to have been able to keep them and not been forced to sell them off.
I think the recent passing of her father has caused the wife and I both to slow down our busy lives and relax a little.

We also have some cool non Mopar cars.
Here's our all orginal 1989 GT Mustang convertible.
35k original mile.

We just bought this one out of California.
1990 Shelby Daytona with the VNT turbo.
Our 16 year old son is working after school to buy it from us but it's such a fun liitle rocket to drive I just might keep it for myself :smokin:
Rust free and very clean with 50k original miles... it will be fun to run it against the Mustang.

Yes it has a glass T/A hood from Unlimited Fiberglass.
I picked it up at a swap meet for $150
It's fit and finish is OK for a  non original strip car, but there are other repop T/A hoods out there that are much better.

I've had the old 73 for many moons.

More pictures of the Plum Crazy R/T Please. I have always wondered what mine would look like without the vinyl top.
