Hey Ross, and everyone else...it's been a long time
« on: October 21, 2003 - 09:00:47 PM »
Taking a LONG break from dodge-charger.com...things have gotten out of hand over there. Too many malcontents and adversarial members. Sad, all the Old Timers are gone and the attitude has changed as of late. I miss the way the site used to be - fun, informative, friendly... I don't think it's Jesse or Chris's fault at all, I just think there's a bad element over there right now and it's probably hard to control. So, I'll log in here more often and say hi, see whats up, shoot the breeze. Still have a lot of Mopar questions, and some of my Charger update pics I was gonna post over there, but I'll post them here instead.

Gotta get going right now, but just wanted to see how everyone over here is doing. Talk to you all later,

Bill

Hey ChargerBill, glad to see another person come into the peaceful environment over here.  :D  I did start out over at D-C.com, but was quickly ejected over here after I sold my '69 Charger.....Yeah, that site has changed for the worse within the past few months, but you already know that so I'm not going to say anymore.  :P
I too am looking forward to some pictures.  ;D

Welcome back ChargerBill...glad to have ya! To bad about the D-C site.  It's sad what a few bad apples can do to spoil the bunch.  Stick around here, chat and have fun...it's like home.

more correct , the GM is upside down over 90% of the locks are designed to work with the tunblers above the key , not GM though ::)

Funny about the locks..I always thought the cylinders on my Charger were somehow flipped upside down...I was going to take them apart to try to correct them...DOH! Glad I didn't do that! :P

Yeah...I have the urge to visit Dodge-charger.com, but don't really want to know what they're saying about me over there. Maybe good, maybe not so good...I just felt that place needed a wake-up call - it was getting pretty negative and petty...I hope it gets better.

Neil, I was gonna ask about the friggin package, but it appears that USPS has had it sitting in their office since I was on vacation...they said it won't go through for a few reasons.

1) Has remaining old labaeling (3 sets) which is deemed suspicious by their security standards.

2) Weight is off-balance (whatever THAT means) - he said I'd have to open it and repackage it in a DIFFERENT sized box.

3) I has been sitting unclaimed for 2 weeks now, he said they were ready to destroy it...yet I never got a notice - I called yesterday and asked when it was delivered.

I have an idea, why don't I send you a plane ticket and you can go home with it in your hands...wish I could, money is tight right now. Neil, you ever notice how when things go wrong, they REALLY go wrong?...

nothing bad being said , on D-C , The site has changed but it has to , bored kids without cars want to be part of the site as well , I don`t read most of the garbage & focus on helping people which may be a mistake but I use the time as effectively as possible ,
I would send the package by post , UPS is garbage + I will have to pay extra here to pick it up as well
I do understand how everything goes wrong though ... all to well

This is not related to Mopars, but rather, the UPS slamming.  I thought I was the only one to get sh*t-on by UPS.

Last Christmas, I bought my brother and his wife a Sony home theater system from Crutchfield (Crutchfield is excellent to deal with for electronic equipment, by the way).  I ordered it about two or three weeks before Christmas.  After 6 or 7 days, no package, called Crutchfied, we both went to the UPS tracking site and find that it made it to my local UPS shipping center, but got lost there.  Crutchfield did some extra footwork with UPS, but in the end, no home theater sytem found.  Once it was deemed officially lost by UPS, Crutchfield sends out Sony unit # 2 at no charge to me.  Same thing happens at the local UPS shipping center!!! but UPS will not officially declare it lost.  I could have ordered and paid for another unit from Crutchfield (Crutchfield offered to immediately credit my account if any of the first two units show up and I return it), but I mistakenly take UPS's advice (and ignore Crutchfields good advice) and let UPS do an investigation into the second lost package.  Christmas is getting closer, and I'm worrying about looking like a d*ck when there is no gift under the tree for my brother.  UPS really dragged their feet.  They never called me back.  After pestering UPS, it becomes clear no home theater system will be coming down the chimney in time for Christmas.  I'm back on the phone with Crutchfield and they send out unit # 3 and they don't charge me even though UPS has not officially declared it MIA.  I get unit # 3 very quickly.  Oh, I forgot to mention something; unit # 3 was sent out through FEDERAL EXPRESS via regular ground shipment and showed up in 2 days.

Long story, but between this site and MOPARTS.COM, I have seen a great deal of customers who were screwed by UPS.  UPS is sh*t and they don't give a damn about your business these days.  They are not the UPS of 10 years ago.  There are other stories, but the bottom line is that they will break, steal, destroy, and lose your package and make no effort to compensate you.  F*** UPS.
