i really like the rumble of muscle.but i also love the sound of a Ferrari

I really dont think a Ferrari sounds like rice just like you can pick out a Hemi rumble, you can also pick out a Ferrari no matter how many ricers are around. IMO

:iagree:  I love the sound of the American V8 but also the Ferrari V8 is awesome too!

Like  Challenger6pak said, the American small blocks might be acloser comparison.  The European V8s, fo rhte most part, are small displacement, high RPM engines, older Ferraris with multiple carb set ups.  For those engines it's not just the sound of the exhaust but from the intake also, IMO.

I gotta say that "youtube' ferrarri sounded alot like a 4-cyl. Honda Motorcycle with a header I rode in the past. Doesn't mean it sounds bad.

Jeremy Clarckson loves to wind you guys up. Take everything he says with a BIG pinch of salt.

I have always loved the sound of an American V8.

But with examples in the video clip we are given the Euro V8 sounds better. It sounds like a racecar.

The American examples there sound no different to any American V8 truck.

But. Having said that.....

Stick in a high stall converter, 4.30:1 rear gears, a good exhaust system and a "Yank" V8 sounds like the dogs sensative bits!

It is the rpm that is exciting. That is what makes any car sound like a race car.

I voted euro just to help that side out(the vote was a little lopsided).  Seriously I worked in a European garage for some time and there is nothing like the sound of an air cooled 911(I know its a 6 cylinder but the v-8 doesn't sound good), or most euro v-8s.

Don't Ferrari's use 180 degree headers? That will have a big impact on the way an engine sounds.
