Doctor Diff actually makes an 1 1/4 offset shackle ...

Is that good? If, for topics sake, they made a 3" or 5" off set kit, does the bigger maker it any less safer?
Or are these leaf spring kits safe no matter the size? Also, will they fit SS Springs in this relo kits.

I'm guessing yes but it pays to make sure. :bigsmile:

I only know of 3" offset kits; not any 5".

3" requires frame re-work and tubs.

Project been halted for awhile due to some real estate stuff.

It's back on now.  Hence the recent inquiries on XV stiffening braces, four-speed hump, and holes to weld up.

I'll need to post some recent pics. I'll take some this weekend and post (in a new thread).

Here's a pic of the hulk being loaded and transported to my buddie's auto body shop after being in his garage forever:


Surface rust and all.

Getting frame connectors, four-speed hump, firewall filled, XV radiator brace put in.  Then it goes to another guy's place to get the 'Vette C4 IRS fitted, then it goes back to get EVERYTHING fitted (fenders, wheels, etc.) before it gets re-dipped, galvanized, and epoxied.

Still a way's to go.

StrOkEr: I was checking out the Tire Combo thread and noticed your setup on paper with everything needed to fit 315/60 sized tires. Is the set up below correct? If so that is what I could fit. What mods if any did you need to do to the body? Roll the lip? Shave anything? Does it rub? Also, would a 1" relo kit be better?


Rear: MT ET Streets 315/60/15 with 15x10" Rim & 5-1/2" BS
B-Body rear, 3/4 relo kit & NO wheel spacers!
1/2"+ clearance to the springs and 1" + to the wheel well lip
Super Stock Springs (3400lb)
Front Spring Hanger Mounted On Upper Hole

I have: 15x10" with 5-1/2" BS (like you). I will/can get a B-Body Dana and 3/4" or 1" relo kit. I will also run SS Springs, well, more than likely. So, if you didn't need any mods, I should be able to fit these on my Cuda?

I dont know any of the Dana 60 Specs NZ.....Im sure someone here with a dana 60 can take measurments from spring perch center to spring perch center and I will measure mine....however 360cuda put a b body rear in his cuda as well with 15*10's with 5' backspace and has no problems but I believe he runs a 295/50/15... my rims are 15*10 w/ 5" backspace and yours are 5 1/2 so if the dana 60 is the same from spring perch center to center than the 1 1/4 offset shackle will be perfect....I know you want the 315/60/15 which is a taller 30" tire than the 28" 325/50/15 but both have 10" tread width but the 315/60/15 is wider overall....something to consider for fitment!

What I would do if I was you is email doctor diff as Im sure he has exact width of the dana 60 perch to perch etc...and 8 3/4 and go from there... but I am definately running the 325/50/15(28*13.5*15) when I shred off the 28*12.5*15's

28" is about as tall as I've ever gone in my cars (Cuda/Challenger). I'm not sure how the 30" will go height wise. Hopefully it will fit in without and hitting of the upper well. With the SS leafs I may get something back as they sit a little higher. I'll email doctor diff and see what he says about my set up. Not sure yet if he does disc brake kits but will ask what he recommends. So, 325/50 is 28" overall height? I don't really want to go R-50s as I'm sure they don't make the car sit as good, though, if it's 28" high I guess it's the same as I've got now just a lower profile.

Plenty to think about, I'll keep you posted, thanks for the help. :cheers:
