Cuda repo shell
« on: April 14, 2007 - 09:56:05 AM »
I just read in Hot Rod Magazine there is a new 70 style Cuda shell in the works by the same people making the Camaro (and now 67 Mustang Fastback) shells. I think up go the Challengers values and down go the Cudas.

They make repo shells of Cobras and that didn't effect original Cobra's values at all. Original is original meaning rarity and value. Just my opinion.

I can see parts not available in reproduction going to go up and cuda values going down if this happens.

I see lots of vins being swapped on to new shells... not sure if thats ok being its a new part.  However that means that more parts not available yet should become available, possible new roofs and other parts.  I dont see it hurting values.  Also wait and see how much they cost, won't be cheap!

I don`t think they will go down that much but it would be OK with me if they did.I am not in this hobby as an investor,I am in it b/c I love the cars.  :2cents:
If they do make the new bodys I guess there will be a ton more `71 Hemi clones.  ::)
The positve side is all of the sheet metal needed will be reproduced along with many other parts not currently available.

It will also give the customizers a clean shell to start with instead of hacking up nice original cars.

I highly doubt the 'cudas will go down, now if I owned a Challenger, and they make a 4 door or wagon...I'd be worried.  Real..is Real. IMO.   Not that I wouldn't like a NEW 'cuda... :stirpot:

Maybe they will have new doors too.  The movie guys can crash the repops too... get sick of seeing originals trashed.

If I owned a Cuda I would sell it and buy a Challenger. Oops! Wait. Did that.
