Painting a T/A Hood
« on: April 17, 2007 - 05:51:29 AM »
I'm curious if anyone here has painted a T/A hood. If  so how'd you get good coverage under the overhang of the scoop?
Thanks
J

Dail the gun down to a narrow pattern and spray that area first on each coat, then open back up and do the whole hood to keep even coverage.

this was my first attempt with a gun, if you look close in person you can still tell there is not as much paint under the overhang though.

LOVE that hood. Wonder if it'd look out of place on a 73 'Cuda? :lol2:

I personnally think it would look great but the Challenger hood doesn't fit. I have never seen a T/A Six pack scoop on a Cuda but I have thought about grafting one to a flat hood to see someday. My 74 Cuda has a shaker hood but it sure is a pain to take off and put back on when you need to get to anything on the top of the engine! I like the looks of the shaker but not the inconvenience. I say go with what you wish Mother Mopar should have done. Best of luck.  :cooldancing:

Pretty trick, I'd think. After all, the AAR style doesn't look too bad on a Challenger. Plus it'd really jack up the purists.
