New paint scheme
« on: April 17, 2007 - 06:25:06 AM »
Been thinking of changing my paint a little when I get back home. I feel that with all the black towards the rear (tailpanel, spoiler, hockey stripe, and vinyl top) that I should bring some black accents forward. I did a crude rendition in paintshop with the scoops accented black and then with the hood treatment and a custom AAR-type side stripe. I would really value everyone's opinion as to whether I should keep the car as is, with the hood treatment, or all three. What do ya think?

I think the AAR stripe would look great and accomplish your goal of bringing the black to the front of the car. The hood option does not look good to me, it looks like the car has a nose bleed . The one other thing that you could do to bring more black to the front of the car is black out the grille. just my  :2cents:

I agree, the ARR stripe would look good.

I got the idea from this Cuda that looked really hot to me. Maybe you'll like the hood treatment better when you see the real thing here.

Actually after seeing the real thing I do like the hood treatment. Don't know about the stripe though, I have always been partial to the hockey stripe.

Since we're having a little photoshop fun, I added 22" Rallys to your car.

I have seen the hood treatment (or something like it) and I still don't like it.  But that is just my opinion . . your car, do what you like!   :grinyes:

Im going with everyone else here.  I dont care for the hood treatment.  Maybe just black out the scoops, and not have those lines towards the front.  Do what you like!

The stripe does help though, I like that.   :2thumbs:

YOu did a nice job!

AAR stripe- I like it.  The hood treatment gives it an aggressive aftermarket touch.  Works well with the aftermarket wheels on the green 'Cuda.

Now about the wing..... :misbehaving:  :scared:  :roflsmiley:

I agree with you, but that hockey stripe was a 70 only thing. For my 2 pennies worth, I would keep it as is, or do the AAR stripe, or a strobe stripe like 4C did on his convertible. I really don't like the hood treatment.  :2cents:

IMO Paint the scoop inserts black.  then check it out.  mayby a black front spoiler?    If you run the AAR stripe i think they look better with the black hood/fender tops.    how about a 72-74 black side stripe?   :poopoke:

The AAR stripes look great. The hood treatment looks good except for the lines coming from the scoops. Just black them out and leave off the lines.
