:iagree:   I feel your pain NZ....  Spiders Suck!..   I think I have figured out why I don't like them versus snakes and other creepy creatures.  I also don't have a problem with snakes and such.  I think the main reason I don't like spiders is because I know that if I don't go where snakes and such hang out, my chances of running into one is pretty slim.  There are exceptions, but still very slim.  Spiders on the other hand are sneaky sobs.  You can be chillin' in your house and one of them can just "drop in" on you for a visit.  Had them do it before.  They also get in you bed with you.  That's why I hate em, they are everywhere.  You want to see a sight, watch old Old's Cool get it in gear when a spider gets on him.  I'm just glad I don't pull a muscle or something trying to get em off....lol          :cooldancing:

:iagree:

LOL!  :lol2: Yupe, they have the element of surprise. Funny thing is, they must be twice as scared as me.  See a 6ft mass with 100 eyes can't be a fun thing for them. :grinno: But yeah, I agree with you, curtains, bed spreads and the toe end of your boots. They say on average, the average human eats about 6-7 spiders during their sleep a life time. That sucks! You eat them and don't even know about it.......I always check my covers and pillows. I've seen some nasty flesh eating wounds from spiders so a quick 10 second search/flick of the sheets isn't much to ask.

They don't bother me much so I've never tried to kill them. Good luck with that one, it's pretty difficult to completely eradicate them but controlling thier numbers isn't too tough.

Around here we have Black Widow spiders. Kill them on the spot!!!  :stomp:
And smash any egg sacks too. I allways am worried about my kids, I have seen there webs but I have only seen one. But it was a big one, and I smashed it good.

Back in Las Vegas we used to go spider hunting at night with a flashlight and Raid (or carb cleaner) just to keep the black widow population down.  Neighbors had a junkpile in their back yard, and we'd get new batches of spiders and webs along the fences every week or so.  If they hadn't had kids and a dog in the back yard we would have tossed a couple of spider bombs into the pile, but we couldn't.

I bought a '73 Dart from someone who had just brought it from New Jersey when the Challenger had freeze plug problems.  A week or so after I got it home I noticed a spider web in the rear window.  Vacuumed it out.  Next day three webs.  Vacuumed out, checked the trunk, put a couple small squirts of raid.  That night I had to drive somewhere, and saw something when I got to the car.  Shown a flashlight down and saw many tiny spiderscoming out from under the car.  Shined a flashlight under it and saw a nearly opaque mass of webs under the trunk, along the tank, with _thousands_ of baby spiders streaming down little strands, and the biggest, fattest, evil-est mama boack widow I've ever seen to this day.  Bloody jersey spiders... no way that mass of webs and egg sacs were produced in the 7 days the car had been in Las Vegas.

For a while I consdered arson.  Seriously (though is it arson if its your own car?).  Settled for using up a can of carb cleaner on mama and all the areas I could see, borrowing another car, putting plstic drop cloths over the car and spider bombing it.  Twice.  Windows open since the little bastards had gotten inside two.  Then I aired out the car for a few days before driving it again.

Spiders are evil.  Black widows are uber-evil.  And any spider in one of my Mopars is an affront not to be tolerated.

Unfortunately the modern effete "please dirt and varnish pretty please go away" carb cleaner is no more effective on spiders than it is on carb grunge so its Raid or nothing these days.
