B&M Shifter Cable

Mine keeps melting  :pullinghair: the last one I installed I even put a heat shielding over it .... anyone have any suggestions or what length shifter cable do you run ???

Run a factory Slap stik set up to be 100% safe. :grinyes:

I had this happen a few years back. I had to buy a longer one and route it buy the starter then along the oil pan to steer clear of the headers.

I hate the cables , they are very poorly made , if they were made with a flat wire wrap like a pedal bike shifter cable heat would not bother the cable
 When I become bored & rich I will styart making real cables along with about 100 other badly needed parts & ideas
don`t hold your breath K !!!

The 4 footer worked out perfect!!!  :cooldancing: not even close to the header.... was a tough bend but it all works great!!!  :burnout:

Had a B&M break on me....left me sitting at work one day.  Went to factory setup after that.

1974 Challenger Rallye - 440+.040, 0 decked, 10.5:1, Ross Pistons, Hughes 3844 cam (238/244, .536/.540), Eddy RPM manifold, Eddy aluminum heads, Holley 750, TTI headers, .96" T-bars, IAS shocks, 1 1/8" front sway bar, 3/4" rear sway bar, XHD 6 leaf springs, Firm Feel stage 2 steering box.
