Hi everyone!
I'm quite honored to finally be able to be a REAL member of this forum. I found Cuda-Challenger some time ago and tried registering, but for some reason never received an approval email for my member name.
I am a proud owner of a 1973 Plymouth Barracuda. I bought it a few months ago in September. It's been my dream to once again own a Mopar after my father sold his 1972 'Cuda while I was away in college. It had been my daily driver in High School and I really loved that said, primered, falling-apart car.
I stumbled across my car while jogging here in Camp Hill, PA. I kept in touch with the owner over a few months, and finally gave an offering price. He accepted, and she was all mine.
I am very anxious to get involved with this community, and establish a plan of action for restoring the Barracuda. She's in good shape all-in-all, but definitely needs some TLC. My first order of business is restoring the suspension. With the sagging frame, the alignment is well out of whack. It needs aftermarket eccentrics to allow enough adjustment in the caster, and I'd like to completely replace the A-arms, torsion bars, shocks, etc. She'll need all new ball-joints, tie-rod ends - the works.
Eventually I need to gather my wits and figure out what engine I'd like to replace the 318 with. It's not the original 318 - the block is painted red, and the seller figured it was from the 80's sometime. He really knew nothing about the car.
I myself am a recent graduate of WyoTech, and am currently a Store Manager for a retail location of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. I started employment with a restoration ship fresh out of school, and learned quite a lot in the past few years.
Whereas I am a newb to Cuda-Challenger, I am in no ways a newb to the online automobile forums. I am active on 2GStratus.org, where I keep up to date on my 2001 Dodge Stratus coupe, and even sell an aftermarket part I designed for the car there as well.
I am very excited to make new friends and contacts through Cuda-Challenger, and look forward to the day that I can assist members new and old with these fantastic cars.
Thanks for allowing me to join, and expect me to spend a lot of time here ->
And might I add, I love this emoticon:
It was on 2GStratus for a while until it somehow got replaced.
