I too wondered about traction bars on a Mopar.

Not to take over the thread but just to add some input, but one of the Mopar magazines say traction bars don't work on Mopars and a pinion snubber is the best way to go.

Any input?  :dunno:

i do run an adjustable snubber, seems to help. i also read that traction bars are worthless on mopar, just figured i could pin the rearend down more with a little dialing in. thank you for the feedback, steve

I have run both. After a while the pinion snubber began deforming the contact point on the body so went back to traction bars.

What tires are you running?

I've never had a problem getting mopar leaf springs to hook, if teh contact patch with teh tire was up to the task. If your springs are working right, the body seperation will actually prevent snubbers from ever working correctly.

I have heard that you don't run traction bars on a Mopar for at least 30 years.  Get some SS springs or CalTracs.   :2cents:

I didn't knwo how the Caltracks mounted/looked like so he's a pic from Mopartech just in case you are unfamiliar with them.

You can use a multi leaf spring (mopar) or a mono leaf spring with the Caltrac's. My friends B/SA Stocker doesn't have any problems at all. 580hp. 440-6 ,  3800lb. race car...All steel, no acid or fiberglass. Any questions????

Not to take over this thread but with the Caltracks in the pictures above, what does it do to the verticle movement of the car?

It looks like it triangulates the front half of the leafspring so that part of the suspension no longer has verticle (up and down) movement.

Can those be used on bumpy roads/ road with potholes/etc...?  :clueless:

SB72, not sure what you mean about vertical movement except with the mono leaf it will limit the body rise to a minimum. With the multi leaf it would let the body rise a little more. I would think the mono leaf would be better because the car will be going forward instead of upward in the rear which would be loss time. I never got a chance to install them on my last racer because I sold the car. I actually used super stock springs and modified them to what the car wanted. In N.H.R.A. Stock eliminator your very limited to the rules. No ladder bars or four links...

Caltracks aint in a fixed spot in front, only limited in forward direction, by the piece thats over the spring, so you got full spring movement..
A little like the hangers in the back of the spring..

Hope you understand, I just aint that god in english... :clueless:  :bricks1:
