Green wire from starter relay
« on: April 22, 2007 - 07:42:33 PM »
I ordered the 4-speed safety harness....where does it go from the starter relay?  It has a grommet which makes me believe it goes through the firewall.  Does it go on something on the pedal?  The one end has the plug for the relay, but there was bare wire on the other end.  Is this harness some kind of ground?

Also, does anyone have a picture of how the 4-speed back-up light harness is chaneled under the car on its way to the plug on the tranny?  If not, can someone tell me the route for this harness?  Thanks so much!

the Green wire grounds on the switch on the clutch pedal , if you do not have the switch you need to ground that wire somewhere , I do not know of a repro part for the switch , you can get them on Ebay for a lot of $$
the back up harness goes across the firewall & drops down the right side & goes over top of the trans where the tailhousing bolts to the main housing

Thanks

Nothing was wrong with mine internally, so it was just a disassembly, clean and plate and reassembly. really not much to it internally.

Checked the petal switch this weekend and the male prong had broken loose from the green wire. Switch is fine internally. After 25 years without it, I'm now back in business.

 Thanks for the inspiration. :2thumbs:
