Thanks for all the thoughts!   I think I'll give them both a try and see the differences!

I don't know if this is for me, but American Collector didn't ask.  Just gave them the VIN.  I suppose this could be a problem if your 426 Hemi got stolen from your original /6 car.  But this is where the agreed value comes in.

$112 a year through American Collectors Insurance. They do have a mileage limit as stated before, but in the last 10 years I have only put 8000 miles on the car. Plus they will insure your car even if it isn't finished. Hagerty turned me down for a policy because my car wasn't painted or complete enough - something like that. If you are a USAA member they don't even ask for photos! Previously had Allstate, but they changed something on their early modle car coverage so I couldn't insure through them anymore. Had AAA in the 80's and they wanted to total my car out after I rear ended a mustang ($500 damage at the time) glad I didn't take the money on that one!
70 Cuda, 7.0L Gen-III Hemi, Viper T56 w/9310 gearset, 3.91's, Megasquirt MS3x v3.57, Innovate wideband, Firm Feel upper arms, torsion bars, springs and strut rods, QA1 DA shocks. I did everything on this car except the fancy paint stuff and I drive it...and I can't seem to stop messing with it....

Here in Finland the insurance is something between 400 to 800 euros (~550-1000$ per year) depending on the options if you cannot get your car registered as museum (collectors) car. Insurance for museum car is something like 200$ or so with limited usage days per year but the laws to pass the car as museum car are very strickt and the parts used on the car must be almost 100% original.  :horse:

What are the policies of these various collector car insurance companies as regards actually driving / showing them? I know some companies will only cover you if you are actually in the car for like a show, parade or similar. You have to physically be with the car. I thought  that some of these insurers won't cover any damages if you aren't with the car, like if you run into a store to buy something and someone damages your car while you're gone. Anybody know what's up with that?
