Miles Per Gallon POLL!
« on: April 23, 2007 - 11:00:44 AM »
Last check I got 2.1MPG with the dual 600cfm carb setup and a little heavy foot.... hopefully the 1050 dominator will help me get an extra .5 MPG...  :burnout:

Around 16 for my 440ci-4bbl 750cfm Eedelbrock. Around 300-320 miles from one tank.
That was with normal driving, need power to over take, use it. I could squeeze more out if I really needed too.

The 440 in my truck will knock down 16-18 highway loaded with poeple, tools, parts and a trailer pulling a car.

The 360 in my race car averages around 5.

360 in my Challenger is around 12.

Haven't checked the Satellites. The 383 in my 67 hasn't been fired yet and my 74 has dead cylinder so it is only running on seven.

I used to get aroung 15-16 with the RR with 2:76 gears. Last summer I changed them to 3:55's so I don't know right now. The T/A is more like gallons per mile. I run 116 racing gas in it and just add when needed. It has a .600 lift solid cam and 12.5 TRW's in it with a 4000 stall convertor and 4:88 gears. I tell the wife if I wanted milage I'd get a Neon.  :roflsmiley: :roflsmiley:  :money:

I'd guess with normal driving my 383 2 bbl I get about 13.  If I went to a 4 bbl, I could probably get better mileage, but I can buy a lot of gas for the $600+ dollars it would take for parts.   :walkaway:

EDIT: This was when I had 2.76 gears sorry. In OD with the GVs my 3.91s run like 3.05s in final gear.
So, I'm guessing if I had to push it, 16mpg is still very possible. My 440 is basically stock (headers/exhaust etc).

What remains of the heart stopping, head rushing, 116hp (on NOS) and at the rear wheels of course. :smilielol:

I guess the term "fart can" really does apply in this case then!  :22yikes:

When you have as "much" hp as those cars do, you want the biggest muffler you can get.
How else are they going to hear 116hp? :icon16: Fart cans are fully sick and PH-Phat. :grinno:

Hopefully someone with a crate Hemi, chimes in with what they're getting.
I'll start saving fuel coupons for when my 'Cuda is done. :P

Nah, I could careless......you don't buy these cars, or shouldn't if you're worried about fuel.
That's like buying a 50 acre farm and worrying about how you'll cut the grass. :icon16:

Come on Olds Cool, what are you getting from the Beast?
BTW, are you keeping the Beast? Not sure what happened but I remember you had a serious offer (or two?).
