This car is pretty local to me.  Too bad the moron wont fix it up, or sell it.  I stopped last fall when I was looking for an ebody.  He told me he's the orginal owner, ordered it himself. 
'73 340.  But I think he lies, because then wouldnt it be a 'Cuda?

My cousin has a very expensive fancy digital camera, and got some decent shots of it.  We went for a cruise and stopped by the side of the road so I didnt have to talk to the angry guy again.  I wanted to go now, because in a few weeks, it will be mostly hidden again.

I don't know if it necessarily has to be a 'Cuda because it has a 340 (If I understand correctly).  It looks like it says "Barracuda" on the tail panel.  Check the VIN to see if it is a BH or BS car.

I'm not sure about that year for Barracudaas, but in '72 on a base Challenger, you could order it with a 340 and it would NOT be a Rallye version.  It would come with a 340, 727, dual chrome tipped exhaust, rear valance with cutouts, and rallye hood.  It would come with silver grill and tail panel (Instead of the flat black Rallye version.), "JH" desgination (base) instead of "JS" designation (Rallye).

Nice find, sucks the owners is a fudge packer. I think there should be a law against owners of rare or exotic cars who have no plans to fix or restore their cars. Take them to court and they get given a few years etc if it's not restored or in drivable condition the car will be auctioned off at the local police department.

Lot's of 340 Barracudas in '73.  340 was standard for the 'CUDA but 318 was optional.   

about 2700 318 'CUDAs were built in '73.  I don't have any numbers on how many 340 Barracudas were built

Yes, sometime (3-4 years) not 16+. Also, "that" coming from a guy who's saving a 71 car. Until you're under way restoring cars, I don't think you can fairly comment on time frames during resto. "Sometime" nice.
 
Besides, I "think" mines in a little better shape than the car in question (the swap monster).

Steve, that's a very cool find and as suggested, grab a nice lump sum of Franklins and head over there if you really want to see a person motivated by the smell of green.  I almost had a very cool find down here, but the second drive by I was only doing around 55 mph and saw it wasn't a 'Cuda like I first expected.  It's sad to say, but a '67-'68 Camaro shell resembles a stripped down 'Cuda when it's white, you're focusing on the roof line, and you're on a crotch rocket doing around 70 mph into a corner. (That and he had a bunch of '50's Imperials and other old land yachts on the side of the yard that sparked my Mopar fever past 100*.)

  If I remember right there were about 1000 '73 baracuda 340's . There were less Cuda 340's in '73 . I had one a few years back & did a bunch of research .

Could be  The bad thing is I just have the bare chassis as the 340 is long gone. One thing is for sure, the '73s are rare and here is another one on it's way out
