surface rust on drivers side floor?

Why do the drivers side floor pans of our cars get rusty but the passenger side stays nice?

Total guess but I'd say it's from the water leaking from behind the wiper arm and brake booster area.  The well under the wiper motor rots out first and dumps lots of water on that side too.

Yup, booster area for me....  >:(

That would be my guess ,Especially if the car spent any time in a Snow Belt Region

could be aggravated by the heal pad not allowing evaporation

And the occassional hot coffee  between the legs that runs down on the floor and gets trapped in the carpet.

Those are some great reasons for it,the only thing I can add is the lack of paint.One thing I have learned from my cars is if it had been painted and sealed good it would still be solid.
